Pragmata | Path Tracing vs Ray Tracing The difference in this spot is pretty big. First time trying a comparison like this, so if people vibe with it I’ll drop more. :)

Path Tracing off vs on in PRAGMATA, makes a big difference in the research station with accurate reflections, shadows and more 👍

The Witcher 3 Remastered without Ray Tracing vs Ray Tracing vs Path Tracing. The visual difference is huge, but I can’t get over the mirror with RT off literally showing her back instead.

Resident Evil Requiem | Path Tracing vs RT High This is like a generational leap. Really hope we see this tech in the PlayStation 6!

Gears of War: E-Day is getting RTX Mega Geometry! It will be the first game to ray trace Nanite and improves ray tracing and shadows with significantly more geometric detail 👍

Path Tracing off vs on in the upcoming 007 First Light. Improved overall lighting detail, reflection accuracy, improved shadows/ambient occlusion (around pillows, etc.) Really looking forward to this game! 😃

Is it the game devs that don't know how to use unreal engine 5, or the engine is just unfixable with its temporal smears? this is "epic" preset with ray tracing on and no upscaling.

first ray tracing demo on Bend2! looks unimpressive til you realize there's no shader nor opengl buffers on EVERY frame, it: - allocates a "quadtree JSON" with 1 million objects (??) - ray-traces over it, using a Python-ish marcher - renders every pixel to the screen - collects the entire structure and it still renders at ~80 FPS on 1024x1024 with no leaks and no stop-the-world garbage collection. it just keeps going again this is not optimized in any sensible way. this is rendering 3d graphics by allocating a massive JSON on every frame and then ray tracing and consuming it whole inside the Apple M4 GPU. and somehow it works I'm soo happy I finally have time to play with my creation 🥺

So sad Xbots still believe a combination of parallax mapping, SSR, cube maps, and render to texture is real Ray Tracing. Look at the bottom left, full self reflecting details, compression won't show it but this is a safety car, it has red and blue lights flashing in the RT.

E11 Bio is excited to unveil PRISM technology for mapping brain wiring with simple light microscopes. Today, brain mapping in humans and other mammals is bottlenecked by accurate neuron tracing. PRISM uses molecular ID codes and AI to help neurons trace themselves. We discovered a new cell barcoding approach exceeding comparable methods by more than 750x. This is the heart of PRISM. We integrated this capability with microscopy and AI image analysis to automatically trace neurons at high resolution and annotate them with molecular features. This is a key advance towards economically viable brain mapping - 95% of costs stem from neuron tracing. It is also an important step towards democratizing neuron tracing for everyday neuroscience. Solving these problems is critical for curing brain disorders, building safer and human-like AI, and even simulating brain function. In our first pilot study, we acquired a unique dataset in mouse hippocampus. Barcodes improved the accuracy of tracing genetically labelled neurons by 8x – with a clear path to 100x or more. They also permit tracing across spatial gaps – essential for mitigating tissue section loss in whole-brain scaling. Using molecular annotation, we uncover an intriguing feature of synaptic organization, demonstrating how PRISM can be used for systematic discovery 🧵

This took a while to make!, so, If it gets enough support, I’ll start making more animations like this

small milestone for me today. first app i’ve ever built is live 🇻🇳 "no plan route" is a curated vietnam map made for travelers who want something a bit more authentic. backpackers, nomads, people exploring by scooter, people trying to avoid tourist traps… this is who i had in mind while building it. the app currently includes curated spots across vietnam: ☕ cafes 🏝 hidden gems 💻 coworking spaces 🍜 local food 🗺 daily picks 🫂 community suggestions the project is still early and i’ll spend this weekend improving it: • fixing remaining bugs • adding tcg locations • expanding the map with more spots • improving the overall experience • refining discovery and recommendations if you know a hidden gem, local cafe, food spot or random place people should know about, there’s now a “+ suggest” button directly inside the app. drop it there and help build the map with me! would love for this project to become community driven over time and as a reminder… this is literally the first thing i’ve ever coded so feedback is more than welcome. if you like it, a ⭐ would mean a lot

I just picked up Ubisoft's Avatar game for research - totally worth it. I don't know how the Snowdrop engine achieves all this micro detail but the amount of it is kind of staggering😮 Easily the lushest game I've ever seen, plus ray tracing, and this is on a base ps5.

I used ray-traced ambient occlusion btw. I would use baked lighting but the levels are waayyy to big for that. Of course its optional and there's gtao if you don't have ray-tracing hardware. there's a monster under my bed that tickles me in my sleep his name is #ralphie

Similar to Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day relies exclusively on Hardware Lumen, but unlike Halo, it doesn't run on GPUs that lack hardware ray tracing support. I think this is the first major UE5 game that requires an RT capable GPU to run.

Very much a nitpick, but the Oblivion Remastered running animation is so goofy it's kinda hilarious. I don't really mind it as I play in first-person pretty much the entire time so a very minor nitpick, pretty funny that they went with this tho

Gonna be work translating this! So many pages and so much detailed information. As mentioned before I’ll be making videos with GeekEcology covering the information found in this book. I’m hesitant to put actually images from the book in the videos. So if you’re an artist and would like to help with the coverage of this please drop a comment.
