Umar Khalid has been in jail for 4 years w/o trial. The charges against him are demonstrably absurd. Does the dictum of Bail being the rule, jail the exception not apply to him, especially when there is no chance of trial being over in a reasonable time. This is a huge blot on the judiciary

@pbhushan1 As much as I hate Prashant Bhushan’s ideology , hypocrisy and double standard , he seems to be right here. What is the difference between Omar Khalid and Kejriwal? One wants to break Kashmir from India and other wants to break Punjab. So, why is the law different for both?

Despite his profession, No he is NOT! Drawing parallels between Kejriwal case against Khalids, is the false equivalence of the highest standard. Difference being one case being based on approver turned evidence whilst the other one having a plethora of very clear evidence of inciting violence. In addition, don’t forget it was Sibal who withdrew Khalids bail application.
