Update on surgery and recovery. Thank you to Dr Philippon and his team out The Steadman Clinic for their help with a successfully surgery. No, I did not have a hip replacement. 😁. But the surgery itself was a success. Thank you to Meghan, Kat, Jason, Jess and Quinn at Howard Head Sports Medicine for their help with the first 3 weeks of rehab and making it as fun and entertaining as it can be. Thankful and very much appreciative of all the kind messages from everyone who has reached out over the last month. ❤️ I’m excited about my progress so far and looking forward to getting back to golf activities here soon. 😁👊🏌️‍♂️

It’s been a long 26 hours filled with ups and downs and many blessings. His right kidney’s bleeding has slowed down. The chest tubes inserted into both of his lungs have decreased blood draining into them. He is responding to some commands. He has six spinal fractures, multiple rib fractures, multiple shoulder blade fractures, his right hand has multiple fractures and he fractured his pelvis along with both lungs had large pneumothoraxes. Tonight he responded to me asking him to open his eyes and tonight, when my sister called him he opened his eyes. I’m sharing this sweet video with you all who have fiercely prayed for our son. We have a long road ahead of us, but I am hopeful we will do it together 💜💜

In trauma care (ATLS), athletes involved in high-energy sports like boxing often have a high pain threshold, which can mask serious internal injuries. We should not assume his injuries are minimal because 2 persons died instantly from reports I got. He requires a full head-to-toe trauma evaluation, including CT imaging and appropriate immobilization. The manner of transport seen was concerning and not consistent with standard trauma protocols. As an international athlete, nothing should be overlooked by the Federal government if adequate trauma care is unavailable urgent transfer to a higher-level or international trauma center is warranted.

This father took his two boys bike riding. The trail they were on said kid friendly. But as you can see, chaos erupted. As the dad was tending to his one son who had already crashed, his other son was coming down the trail. He screamed several times for him to hit his brakes but his son flew by him and kept going and wiped out. When the dad got to him, he appeared to be okay. Just to be safe, he took his boys to go get checked out. Luckily no broken bones, internal bleeding or permanent damage outside of a few cuts bruises and scrapes. The dad said he wishes he would have just reached back and grabbed him as he came down but he was busy tending to his other son. It could have been much worse. Many people are blaming the dad saying he was irresponsible and that he should have checked the trail out before they rode down it. Do you think the father is to blame? Do you think it’s just boys being boys, they’re tough and that’s life? Or, do you think the parks and recreation department is to blame for labeling the bike path as a kid’s path?

Rusty is probably the kindest dog I’ve ever met… 🔓 Was chained up for first 14 months of his life 📆 Has been free and with us for 2 months 🐕 He is already our therapy dog at the shelter for other dogs in need. He took on the role himself 🧵 He brought Stella out her shell and even licks her neck wound clean 😇 We send the teenagers and new dogs in to his play area as he will play or be gentle as needed 🚀 Britney is our dog that has not other dog friends as she always lets herself down. Rusty is her best friend and plays with her for hours to tire her out Any sick or frail dog who is uneasy goes in to get the Rusty treatment. 🦴 We have him a bit of a pamper day today and some downtime with a bone for being such a good boy. 🇮🇪 ✈️ Rusty is flying to his forever home in Ireland soon when his paperwork is ready. I went to court on Monday with a resident of Gray’s Landing apartments, Cindy. She was threatened by a violent antifa - Justin Bowen. The hearing was to ask for a larger restricted area for the no contact order against him and for him to not be able to carry a bat. The judge said they must respect his 1st amendment rights so he must be allowed at ICE. He did restrict him from the “encampment” even though he has to be able to see his “friends” there. The judge also allowed him to continue to carry a bat as Mr. Bowen had claimed he needed it for protection as a little person. Warning him if he used it for violence he would be violating his terms of release. During the testimony it came up that he may be claiming issues of competency and is working with two social workers to help him understand court proceedings. He was threatening in the hallway outside previous to going in the court room and continue to try to turn around and stare at Cindy as well as laughing at the judge and Cindy. It felt like a clown show. Cindy left visibly upset and feeling like there were no real protections in place allowing for her travel outside of her building. She is concerned Mr Bowen or his friends will hurt her dog or herself while she is outside of her apartment and there is very little in place to make her feel secure and safe.

The difference in the way Drew threw in HS/college and what we saw in the videos from the Steelers rookie camp is extremely subtle (basically a slight adjustment w/ the front leg and zero change to his upper half or arm path/slot) and most wouldn’t be able to pick up on it. I disagree that he was early with his external rotation during college. The video below (from 2024) shows his typical approach over the past 7 years…staying loaded and coiled on the back leg until the front foot makes contact with the ground. The drill is designed to keep him loaded in his back glute, and maintain the discipline to not fire his hips early, until his front foot gets down. His front foot and hip slightly clear (while staying coiled in the core) to allow the hips to come through cleanly. That slight opening of the front hip, along with the slight closure-internal rotation-of the front shoulder is how hip-shoulder separation is created. Getting the hips to come through first (while the shoulders and arms stay back), then the torso, then the shoulders, is how hip-shoulder separation (power) is maximized. Learned that from Chris Hess and it’s been a fantastic tool.

My name is Boniface Mwangi, and l turn 40 today. I want to celebrate this milestone with Gandhi Muturi, a 27-year-old photographer, activist, and motorcycle rider who was involved in a life-changing accident last year. On 14th October 2022, while riding home, Gandhi was involved in a road crash barely 500 metres from his home. He suffered severe damage to his spine (eight fractures), leading to loss of motor, and sensory functions, as well as multiple fractures on his right leg and left arm. Over the past nine (9) months, Gandhi has waged a very brave fight for his dear life. He spent almost two months in the HDU at Coptic Hospital with multiple organ failure. He has shown great resilience and a strong spirit. He battled with pneumonia; failing kidneys, heart, liver, and lungs; low levels of oxygen, heart rate, blood pressure, and temperature. He has confronted his condition with resilience, and hope for recovery, despite the various blood and bone infections he experiences now and then. Gandhi reminds me of my younger self, carefree, adventurous, and a go-getter. He needs a lot of support, and I’m asking you to chip in to support his medical care. His treatment is gradual and expensive. Gandhi’s mother, Naomi Barasa, is a comrade in the struggle. She was awarded The Sir Henry Brooke Award for Human Rights Defenders in 2018. Her impact on human rights in Kenya is undeniable. She was instrumental in the enactment of the Sexual Offences Act in 2006, the adoption of the Housing Bill 2011, the Evictions and Resettlement Bill, and the Slum Upgrading, and Prevention Policy. She also played a role in the push for the Kenyan Constitution in 2010. My family, and l shall climb Mount Kenya in August. We shall be doing so to celebrate Gandhi’s resilience, and his journey to recovery. The climb is open to anyone who is willing to join us. For months, the prosecution has floated theories that John O’Keefe may have been struck by a vehicle, specifically Karen Read’s Lexus causing injuries as he allegedly stumbled and fell. But today, thanks to the defense entering X-rays into evidence, we now have hard proof that John O’Keefe had no fractures in his arm or hand. The X-rays do exist despite prosecution expert Dr. Welcher suggesting they didn’t. That means no defensive wounds, no impact trauma to the limbs and no car hit his arm. If Karen’s SUV struck O’Keefe as the Commonwealth claims with such force that it broke his skull and threw him then ask yourself this, Wouldn’t there be trauma to the arms or hands? Wouldn’t he try to break his fall? Brace? Shield himself? But nothing. No breaks. No fractures. Clean. Which leads to a simple, devastating possibility, If the car didn’t hit his arm… maybe the car didn’t hit him at all. And that’s exactly the doubt the defense is sowing not with theories, but with medical proof. The kind that doesn’t scream, shout, or lie it just sits there quietly... being true. Dr welcher replied WITH CAREFULLY HEDGED LANGUAGE HE DID NOT LIE. HE NEVER LOOKED!

Puerto Rican and Cuban populations have significant African ancestry from the transatlantic slave trade; genetic studies and historical records show substantial West African admixture in both groups‼️. Fat Joe has publicly discussed his roots in these terms‼️. In appearances and discussions with Charlamagne (including Breakfast Club and related platforms), he has spoken about growing up in the South Bronx as a product of that mixed heritage‼️emphasizing the Black and Latino realities of the neighborhood that produced early hip-hop‼️. He has rejected attempts to erase the African component of his background, framing his origin as inseparable from the same street, cultural, and musical environment that Black Americans and Afro-Latinos shared in New York‼️. This is not performative; it aligns with how many Afro-Puerto Ricans and Afro-Cubans understand their identity: Black by blood and experience while also Latino by language, family, and nationality‼️. Concrete Contributions to Hip-Hop Artist and label builder⁉️: As a solo artist and founder of Terror Squad, he gave platforms to artists (including Big Pun, who was also Puerto Rican with African ancestry) and helped keep hardcore East Coast street rap commercially viable in the late ’90s and early 2000s‼️. Hits that crossed over while staying rooted: “Lean Back,” “What’s Luv⁉️” (with Ashanti), “Make It Rain,” and collaborations with artists across the spectrum moved units and radio while retaining the aggressive, street-oriented sound associated with Black hip-hop of the era‼️. There has also been far too little weight given in subsequent reporting to the testimony of Pickering’s children, who have strongly defended their father and described his ex-partner as a “narcissistic liar”. The fact that she continues to be elevated by some journalists as a reliable source to fuel further negative coverage is deeply disappointing, particularly given the impact this is now having on the children, who say their father protected and supported them. There is also a clear double standard in the way the two stories have been treated. Fowles’ conduct while in office was ultimately absorbed by his party and, three years later, by the electorate. My dear friends and loved ones, my cousin Ahmed Sallam was trying to retrieve some clothes and belongings for the family of my uncle Baha, who was martyred last week.. While he was trying to extract some items, he found this poor cat from under the rubble. So he postponed searching for the items in order to save this poor cat... It is my pleasure to help Ahmed save him. It is a source of pride and honor for me. Ahmed and I went to the vet immediately. The cat's condition was diagnosed.. He is suffering from burns as a result of the bombing, especially in the head area. There is also a shrapnel from the head area next to the ear that penetrated the area and caused a deep wound that reached the skull bone and caused damage to the surrounding tissues, but the skull is not broken. The burns and wounds were cleaned, and he was given intravenous replacement solutions and intensive treatments, as well as treatment for the right eye due to its inflammation. It was decided to perform a surgical operation to remove the left eye, which was lost in the incident, and to amputate the tip of the tail due to its exposure to the burn and the protrusion of its bony end.. But the vet will perform his first surgery tomorrow. The vet told us to refrain from eating or drinking anything tonight and to bring him in tomorrow morning for his first surgery, which will be to remove the shrapnel from his head... This cat is a victim of this war. As usual, innocent people pay the price for the filthy actions of humans.. My dear friends and family, Ahmed and I will do everything we can to save this cat. NEW: Video of the car crash that sent ESPN analyst Mike Miller to the hospital, where he had to have his arm amputated, has been obtained by New York Post. Miller was involved in a head-on collision with a semi-truck on a 2 lane road in Jasper County, Missouri, last month. Missouri State Highway Patrol officials reported that Miller was wearing a seatbelt “during the crash and due to the extensive damage, the seatbelt ripped, and Miller was ejected from his Ford Bronco.
