Black patriots fought side by side with George Washington. He was skeptical at first, not sure if blacks would be good soldiers, but he immediately saw they were brave as fuck. White men in wigs may have signed the declaration of independence, but the war was fought by patriots from all over America, and the bravery of black soldiers was instrumental to Washington. The Patriots could have lost that war, we’d still be English colonies, or Indian people, or French…Spanish…Portuguese or even Russian, as imperial Russia was knocking doors in Alaska, they all wanted North America…but after fighting for seven long years, only one side won. Those idiots who say “whites stole this land” and “it’s the land of immigrants”, they don’t know history or how to frame what really happened. Indians sued for peace at crucial moments and did their share of unspeakable crimes, wiping out entire settlements and scalping people clean, but it was a long war, a major war….with alliances and horrible bloodshed…a war that was eventually won by one side….it wasn’t “stolen”. At any rate, like in the Civil War, blacks played a major role in the war of independence, and they earned the respect of George Washington right away. There were moments in time that all Washington had was black regiments, and despite not being the same quality weapons whites and Brits had, they fought exceptionally well, sometimes with nothing but bayonets.
