Premier Doug Ford says that deporting "hardworking" temporary residents with expiring visas is "the craziest thing I have ever heard" and that population decline is "so dangerous for our country". How out of touch with Canadians can you be?

With over 2 million unemployed and 2-4 M underemployed, we do not need temp workers or additional immgts. If greedy employerrs start paying living wages, they wd hv no prob finding REAL Canadians to do the work for fair pay. Naturally, the desperate/displaced/poor from 3d,4th,5th countries are willing to do it for less. Mass migration of ALL MUST STOP. Permanently and NOW.

"hardworking"??? he says??? These international students are so lazy. They only work when it benefits themselves. I know this for a fact bc I work with these demographic and their cousin international students.

Ford is right. But the way we have setup the system overall, the lack of controls, the feds not knowing who is/isn’t here, and not focusing on economic immigrants for the past 10 years is the problem. Canada needs people. But we need the right people, in the right industries, in the right places, with the right skills. A declining national population eventually turns the entire country into a hollowed-out version of Detroit when its population collapsed. Economic collapse follows.

Those are the people who used to get the first shift at the counter and the warehouse. A Canadian who will not take minimum wage, split hours, and no benefits is not lazy. They have a rent bill and some self-respect. The CEO still takes home millions. The Temporary Foreign Worker Program is a gift to the company, not to the young family. End it, except a narrow farm season. Let the permits expire. Pay a full week and offer benefits, and the local applicant will stay.
