When the Conservative Party was full of grown ups, rather than juvenile culture warriors terrified that Farage will criticise them. How far we’ve fallen. I didn’t agree with Conservative policy, but at least you knew they were competent and well-intentioned in their own way.

They had some great battles in PMQs. Hague to be fair was excellent at that . Blair equally good . PMs always there to be shot at . Quite rightly so. No insults just good punches thrown.

I managed to get into the Commons visitors gallery for the start of the 2002 Queen’s Speech Debate. Watching Blair in the Commons was far more awesome than any debate I’ve ever seen in Congress.
