Top 1 upgrade for your development environment: Start using Dev Containers. During every cohort of my Machine Learning Engineering program, 100+ developers try to run a complex system on their computers. I was wasting 10+ hours every week troubleshooting individual configurations. It was exhausting! I started using Dev Container, and now people are up and running in 2 minutes with no issues. Dev Containers are probably one of the best upgrades you'll make to your environment. They asked me to record a video in class to show them how to create a Dev Container for any project. Here is that video.

This week, #Zcash dropped nearly 50%! (In short, it’s had an #inflation bug for more than 4 years and now there are more rats scurrying from the ship than a Hantavirus hoax cruise) I’ve always been highly suspicious of Zcash, and with good reason: In short, Zcash is basically short for Zionist Cash, and they actually had a seed round done by the CIA, the developer buying privacy focused cryptocurrencies. Zcash has raised 500,000 from In-Q-Tel, the venture capital arm of the US CIA. You also might want to know that Zcash's headquarters are six minutes away from the CIA headquarters. Then there's Zcash and the Epstein files... including the email correspondences between Madars Virza, a co-founder of Zcash, and Jeffrey Epstein. Those emails reportedly involved tax documentation and income related to Zcash linked work along with a gift package sent to Epstein.

a little view into just some of the things my block explorer for Zcash 🛡️ can do. within ZEC-OS itself, all hashes open in new windows, avoiding losing where you were previously. in standalone mode, i went with dynamic tiling. UX matters. link below 👇

Ansem thinks Zcash could be setting up for the kind of move he witnessed with Bitcoin in 2017 "I really do think a 2017 style cycle is possible, especially with the way Zcash is trading" "I joined in 2017 and I saw Bitcoin go from like 3K to 20K" "I really think something similar can happen with Zcash" He is comparing the current $ZEC momentum with the market environment he experienced during his first crypto cycle. Bitcoin went from roughly $1K to nearly $20K in 2017. $ZEC has now gained more than 2,300% over the past year, recently pushing to a new ATH. His thesis is that the magnitude of the move may still have room to expand if Zcash 🛡️ continues attracting capital and attention at this pace. Zcash is starting to feel like a 2017 style trade.

Mert says Zcash gave NEAR momentum, but NEAR may have helped unlock Zcash first “You have to look at what outperforms the general market, which Zcash and NEAR have done” “If you just say it's encrypted Bitcoin, that's pretty much all you need” “It's questionable that Zcash would have went up as much if it weren't for NEAR in the first place” mert thesis is a two-way flywheel. Zcash brings a simple monetary + privacy narrative. NEAR Intents gives $ZEC more utility by connecting it to wallets, swaps and liquidity across other chains. More access creates more ways to use $ZEC beyond simply holding it on an exchange, while Zcash activity feeds back into the $NEAR ecosystem. Zcash 🛡️ brings the asset. NEAR Protocol expands where it can move and what it can do.

Mert thinks Zcash still looks undervalued even after a major repricing “A 10x for Zcash would be 70 billion, which would mean 4,000” “If you look at the market cap of what’s above it and how small it is, I think it’s pretty undervalued” “Nobody knows where that money came from, but you just paid for it on a different chain in private” His valuation case for Zcash goes beyond the ZEC/BTC ratio. At roughly $6 - 7B mcap in his example, a 10x would still put Zcash around $70B, a valuation he considers reasonable relative to larger crypto assets. mert also points to utility as part of that thesis. A user could hold funds privately in Zcash, then pay someone who only accepts USDC on Solana, with the conversion and settlement happening across chains while Zcash provides the privacy layer. That makes Zcash 🛡️ potentially composable with the broader crypto economy rather than operating as an isolated privacy network. w/ mert, MR SHIFT 🦁

NEAR is the go-to Layer for Zcash Transfers Transferring Zcash meant using centralized exchanges, creating an account, and waiting 30 minutes. This is no longer the case. Today, NEAR Intents transfers native $ZEC through 30+ chains, including Ethereum and Solana, in just a few seconds for less than a cent. There is no need to manually bridge and interact with destination-chain contracts. According to NEAR Protocol, users transferred over $2.4 billion in ZEC using NEAR intents, representing huge adoption. NEAR has become the layer of choice for Zcash.

Ansem: Zcash is Swiss banking in your pocket “Instead of having to look at different bank accounts and different places to store your wealth, Zcash allows you to have access to that at any point in time and take it with you anywhere” “If you have a billion dollars in Bitcoin and send somebody $100, anybody you sent that to now knows you have a billion dollars in Bitcoin” “If you have a billion dollars in Zcash and send somebody $100, they don’t know how much you have in your actual address” “That’s the core reason I think Zcash differentiates from Bitcoin” “In my opinion, Zcash is the second best store of value behind Bitcoin. Right now it trades at around a $7B market cap, so I think it has a lot of room to do well and a lot of room to grow” “In 2016, Bitcoin was around $200 and now it trades at $80,000. In 2016, Zcash was around the same price it is right now…”

So, why did the Winklevoss twins launch cypherpunk - the first Zcash Treasury Company? Why are they bullish on Zcash 🛡️? Can Bitcoin and Zcash coexist? I caught up with Tyler Winklevoss and Cameron Winklevoss last week for Cointelegraph - here's everything they said about Zcash 👇 "We're huge fans of Bitcoin. We're hodlers, of course, and also huge fans of Zcash, which we view as encrypted Bitcoin." "Bitcoin is where you store your value and Zcash is where you transact or spend your value. And so we launched a DAT, a treasury company for Zcash, but it's really dedicated to privacy and self-sovereignty to help mainstream these ideas. The catalyst for Bitcoin was the financial crisis of 2008. And the catalyst for privacy is the dawn of the age of AI." You can find the full interview on Cointelegraph YT channel below 👇

We’ve built these tools not just as products, but as the interfaces people actually use in a privacy-native environment. Get started: 🔗 Wallet: 🔗 DEX: 🔗 Faucet (test tokens): 💡 We’ll be dropping setup guides, best practices, and beta updates in Discord and we want feedback (and bug reports) from early users.
