I was honored to be invited by the President of Somaliland to attend his inauguration on the 12th of December 2024. The event, which brought together hundreds of attendees, including diplomats, political leaders from neighboring countries, and citizens of Somaliland, was truly remarkable. The newly elected President's speech emphasized his commitment to dialogue and the importance of fostering social cohesion within Somaliland. I would like to share my experience in Somaliland, especially for those who have never visited 1. *Hargeisa:Hargeisa’s Peace and Vibrancy* Hargeisa is a peaceful city where people go about their lives with focus and purpose. The city is bustling with commercial activities, and it is clear that the residents are optimistic about the future. During my visit, I witnessed a strong community spirit and a collective determination to transform the economy. 2. Somaliland’s Investment Potentia l My visit to Berbera showcased the transformative power of investment. The development of Berbera Port by DP World has injected substantial capital into the region, making it one of the largest and most efficient ports in the Horn of Africa. The port handles millions of metric tonnes of goods and has completely revitalized the city, opening up vast economic opportunities. Opportunities for Local and International Investors Somaliland is primed for investment, not just from its diaspora but also from the international community. The region's strategic location and stability make it an ideal destination for business. 2. ⭕️ A memorable video = 🚨 It’s a 02nd June 2001, two days after the Constitutional Referendum of the Republic of Somaliland’s on May 31 2001. May God have mercy on the Second President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency the late Mohamed Haji Ibrahim Egal, has invited international observers to the Presidency | Republic of Somaliland of the Republic of Somaliland who came to the country to observe the Constitutional Referendum of the Republic of Somaliland. 🟡 SUMMARY REPORT🟡 Furthermore, It is worth noting that the United African Fact-Finding Committee that visited Somaliland in year 2005s in their report highlighted that they had held various consultations in capital city Hargeisa with the political aspects of Somaliland and the various sections of the society. Like the President, his cabinet, the delegation seeking recognition of the Republic of Somaliland, representatives of civil society organizations, political parties and women's organizations. In all the meetings held with the various communities and politicians, the message conveyed to them is—: (“That the independence of the Republic of Somaliland is inviolable, no negotiation is entered into, and they will not unite with Somalia again and they want the African Union and the international community to Re-recognize the State of the Republic of Somaliland."
