PRESIDENT in a live setting makes it so confusing as to why he chooses to cover his vocals in effects on the studio recordings

They are like average, pretty good but not great. People online always either say they are the best or worst band ever. Neither is true. If my algorithm plays one of their songs I don’t skip it, but I don’t seek them out

It’s an awkward one for sure. I think the effects were there on the EP at first to try and disguise the voice but surely even he knew it wasn’t gonna last long. I do think the effects suit a handful of the songs but in terms of a live setting, he’s got to be one of the best?

Just Sunday they cut their Rocklahoma set way short because the computer with all their tracks overheated.

The vocal effects are dialed down a lot on the album compared to the ep, which is good because I found the production on the ep to be very grating

Can’t listen to President with all the effects honestly. If he would’ve released the music with these vocals I would’ve been an instant fan

I think the initial idea was the effects would hide who he is lol

See, I must be in the minority here, bc I desperately want him to go back to the heavy vocal effect like on In The Name of the Father. I thought it sounded amazing. And it was distinctly PRESIDENT, without it, it's just Fightstar. Or a new band w Charlie. Father was soooo good.

Charlie saw Sleep Token and thought “I can be way cringier than that.” And dammit, he pulled it off.

I saw them at Takedown festival and his voice and screams are ridiculously good. Always in key. I really like them and liked a lot of Fightstar stuff. The only frustrating thing for me is the delay in releasing new material…
