The United States maintains only *one* permanent military base in Africa, Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti, but also China, France, Japan, Italy, Germany, Spain, and Saudi Arabia have military bases there it is not that @KagutaMuseveni refused, he was never asked

But Ugandans are a comical bunch! There's one "real" US army base in Africa and its in Djibouti obviously because of proximity to middle East. Others don't even have permanent US staff

From a strategic and logistical standpoint,maintaining a US base in a landlocked country is significantly unintelligent.The US would rather use a maritime hub in the Indian Ocean and still manage Africa hence the setting up one in Djibouti called Camp Lemonnier.
