Yesterday evening, I inspected the vandalized section of the Lameco Flyover in Osogbo. I commend the hardworking engineers from the Ministry of Works who have swiftly mobilized to the site to ensure the immediate repair of the damaged section. During my visit, I received direct briefing from the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr. Bashiru Bello, on the circumstances surrounding the act of vandalism. It is unfortunate that some saboteurs, whose sole objective is to undermine our developmental strides and destroy the legacy of this administration, would resort to attacking public infrastructure built with taxpayers’ resources. I enjoin security agencies to strengthen the protection of public infrastructure across the state and ensure that those responsible for this criminal act are identified, arrested, and brought to justice. These projects belong to the people of Osun State, and every well-meaning citizen has a responsibility to protect them from acts of sabotage and vandalism. My administration remains resolute in its commitment to delivering quality infrastructure and will not be deterred by the actions of those who seek to impede our progress.

Nurudeen Alowonle, an appointee of Governor Ademola Adeleke and Chairman of the Osun State Park Management, was arrested for being in possession of a service pistol and ammunition. Following the arrest, Governor Adeleke petitioned the then Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun to transfer the officer that made the arrest, CSP Moses Lohor out of Osun State. That was how the case was swept under the carpet. Since that time, Nurudeen Alawonle has been linked to series of political attacks against Osun APC members. But strangely, he has been untouchable as he is said to be harboured in the Government House. Governor Adeleke must be pressured to produce Nurudeen Alawonle for prosecution.

A government that invests in education invests in its people, and a government that invests in its people invests in the future of the entire state. In the last 4 years, Gov. Ademola Adeleke has treated the future of the good people of Osun state with priority by investing in Education. Osun state people cannot afford to go back to the days of dilapidated classrooms, Unpaid Classroom teachers, Inadequate classroom teachers, these are some of the reasons the good people of Osun state wants the continuation of good governance. Enough of sending a bulk percentage of Osun’s money to a generalissimo in Lagos.

Earlier today, I addressed a World Press Conference in my capacity as the Director-General of the Imole Campaign Council (TICC) on the disturbing rise in political violence in Osun State and the tragic killing of 14-year-old Ezekiel Olapade in Ilobu, Irepodun Local Government Area. With deep sorrow, I condemned the gruesome murder of the innocent teenager and demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of Saheed Kareem, popularly known as "Tanfeani," and every individual connected with this heinous crime, following the public identification of the gang leader by the police. I warned that political violence is fast becoming a dangerous trend in Osun State, posing grave threats to peace, security, and democratic stability. I noted that the unfortunate incident in Ilobu is not isolated, but part of a disturbing pattern of violence that has claimed lives and endangered citizens in Ikire, Ilesa, Owode-Ede, Osogbo, and other parts of the state. I called on the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu TUNJI DISU, psc(+), NPM Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Police Force_CRU, to order a comprehensive investigation into all incidents of political violence and ensure that perpetrators, sponsors, and collaborators are brought to justice irrespective of their political affiliations or social status. I also expressed our lack of confidence in the leadership of the Osun State Police Command under Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gottan, citing the recurring incidents of violence and the growing public perception of selective law enforcement. Consequently, I called for his immediate redeployment and a thorough investigation into the apparent operational failures under his watch. Furthermore, I appealed to the National Human Rights Commission, civil society organisations, election observers, diplomatic missions, and the international community to closely monitor developments in Osun State before the situation degenerates further. APC Did Everything Humanly Possible to Win Osun — Aliyu We did our best. We did everything we thought was enough to win the 2026 Osun governorship election. The people of Osun decided they wanted the Accord Party, and that is the beauty of democracy. I congratulate them. There was a lot of internal wrangling in the APC in Osun State in the buildup to the election. Some people were not happy with our candidate.
