Pretty good analogy from SVP last night

100%. It's like a c-level exec leaving Apple to go to Google but sticking around for a month.

It’s a job. Not a marriage. Jobs aren’t designed for a lifetime. Building a family is.

Lane Kiffin, divorced since 2016, was dating a 25 year old this time last year. When nothing is designed for a lifetime, the analogy fits.

Perfect fit for Ole Miss 😂 Many, many Doctors & Lawyers trade in their first wives (the ones who struggle with them through school and/or career building) for a trophy wife or two.

Anyone who thinks he should be able to stay and still coach is nuts. He made his choice so Ole Miss needs to move on and move forward without him starting now. You can’t let him be involved, potentially poaching players, recruiting for LSU etc.. insane to me to think otherwise

It doesn’t need an analogy, just common sense and a little bit of self respect.

Ole Miss saw the signs and said “I can change him”

And there are idiots out there who think the Tulane coach going to Florida is a similar scenario lol

So with that analogy…if I bought a new house, new car, extravagant gifts that you never had…please believe I’m taking my shit with me

About time people in the media are saying it. 48 hours ago you’d have thought this take was OM being petty and mean to LK

Prelude to an episode of @DatelineNBC from @notthefakeSVP.

@DatelineNBC @notthefakeSVP Fades into Keith Morrison narrating...

SVP cleaned it up…preciate it!

SVP nailing the awkward divorce vibes with that analogy—Lane's out the door, but begging for holiday custody of the roster? Nah, pack your bags and bounce, bro Ole Miss deserves better than a lame-duck lame duck. Who's the next rebound hire that's actually a keeper?

He is absolutely right. In the corporate world, many companies will terminate you on the spot when you give notice, and for good reason. You are no longer on the team, and are now, in fact, the competition.

It’s a bogus analogy. He’s not building a life with Ole Miss. He is building a team each year trying to win a championship. Every year is different. Every team is different. He made a commitment this season, and Ole Miss threw a fit when he said he is leaving for next season.

I’m confused why everyone is so pissed and making a big deal out of this. Dude took another job elsewhere. This happens like 30 times every season. Is it just getting more coverage because it happened to an SEC school?

Absolutely - people acting like coaching is just a job are missing the passion of sports. He preached loyalty to the players and fans, and now he's betraying that. Coaching isn't a clock in clock out role, and the damage he would do staying around could be incalculable.

A hoe vs housewife kinda analogy one might say

Yikesssss.

He’s so right

Amen. It really is that simple. Any spin by Lane is just that "spin".

How about Lane signs a waiver that no Ole Miss player can transfer to LSU for two years? Wouldn’t be surprised if Ole Miss offered and Lane said no. Seems fair but the fox doesn’t sign a waiver to protect the chickens when he’s in the chicken coop now does he?

SVP is 1 of the few left @ ESPN worth your time. That list gets smaller every couple months I really wish someone would start another sports channel for competition to ESPN

I still say LSU should have fired Brian Kelly for cause.....because he's the one that CAUSED all of this mess!

SVP is the Everymans voice

How come no one is whining about the Tulane coach doing [checks notes] the same exact thing

1. Neither Tulane or North Texas are a lock for the CFP. 2. Florida & OK State are not in the same conference / a rival of Tulane & N Texas. 3. Sumrall & Morris will get 10x more resources by taking the jobs at Florida & OK State. 4. Neither have a history of this. etc. etc.

Hope he fails miserably

Love SVP

Love me some SVP.

Yeah the coaching wouldn't be a problem, but you can't let him have time to convince other coaches and players to come with him. He's probably already done that anyway but you can't allow it to fester.

This is correct.

WHY IS NO ONE UNDERSTANDING HE RIPPED OFF YOUR TWEET BY SAYING THIS ANALOGY

totally agree SVP Looks like Kennesaw gentleman just left for USF. He's not Two lanes letting their guy coach

Except for the kids (Ole Miss) will probably never get a Christmas (CFP spot) again.
