The Dark Knight Rises is unquestionably one of Christopher Nolan’s weaker films but what does that even mean? Does it even matter? Christopher Nolan has never made a bad film in his life, and that includes The Dark Knight Rises, which, despite being one of his weaker films, is still a damn good movie. The bottom line is that even in his “low” moments, Nolan still strikes with precision.

Christopher Nolan reveals a producer once anonymously called him "a cold guy who makes cold films," a label that stuck with him for years despite Interstellar being his most emotional film. Christopher Nolan: "I had some very brave producer at some point had anonymously said of me, 'He's a cold guy who makes cold films,' years before, and that is sort of stuck on me for several projects." Christopher Nolan: "Interstellar was a project, the reason I was attracted to my brother's first act is it was about family, was about humanity, and it was deeply emotional. And that's the film I wanted to make."
