J.R.R. Tolkien himself admitted that his ideas about Orcs were contradictory and inconsistent, so trying to construct some wholesome “family concept” for them is nothing more than a theory that only Power of the Rings fans would come up with. What is clear in Middle-earth is that once a being truly turns to evil, it never returns fully to goodness again; Gollum is the best example of this. This idea is also reflected in the famous Two Towers scene with Gorbag and Shagrat: although they secretly hate Sauron and the Nazgûl and even dream of breaking free to form their own band, their idea of “freedom” has nothing to do with goodness, they simply want to raid and kill on their own terms. Once greed comes into play, their brief rebellion collapses instantly and erupts into a brutal fight in which their own troops slaughter one another. This moment shows that Orcs are not mindless slaves but corrupted beings driven by envy, fear, and violence, so much so that it's even reasonable to think they might be worse than Sauron. After all, Sauron didn’t only command Orcs; he also had Men and Dwarves under his influence. So even if Sauron had conquered Middle-earth, the Orcs would likely have kept causing disorder and that constant chaos would almost certainly have sparked an outright civil war among themselves. Also, J.R.R. Tolkien struggled with a deep moral and theological dilemma while constructing the concept of evil. He wrestled with this issue throughout his entire life and never arrived at a final, fully satisfying answer. Likewise, he faced the same difficulties regarding the creation and origins of Orcs.

I have been wanting to test performance transfer in Seadance 2.5 since launch, now I have, I am really impressed by the results. I wrote a short script and recorded myself giving a rallying speech as an orc warlord, then fed this and an image of the orc into Seedance with this prompt "A cinematic close up of an orc warlord giving a rallying speech to his army of orcs. Transfer the performance, movement and audio from Video 1 onto the the character Image 1. Do not add any music" I didn't prompt the dialogue or performance in text. The first video you see is a a final cut of the video, the second is the final cut of the video with my video performance. As you can see it's not an exact like-for-like transfer of the performance and voice but more a interpretation by Seedance. It's made my amateur performance better IMHO, more fitting with the creator but retain the essence, nuance and context. So you don't have to feed in a long prompt to get good performance out of your AI actors you can just show them what you want with a video! I used Seedance Enterprise on bytedances lumina platform Lumina link in the comments!

So now that Judge Chutkan ruled that Donald Trump doesn't have absolute immunity by being President -- a ruling I think most Americans agree with -- Trump is trying to pause the entire trial to appeal the ruling. This is his attempt to run out the clock so that he can win an election and make it all go away before having to face trial. Wouldn't you think an innocent man would want to face Trial before the election? I know I certainly would.
