people only disagree with this because they want to cope… they saw their teams qualify through playoffs after getting 4th place in groups. what you just said makes it more competitive in the groups and worth watching. everyone will make sure they win their group matches.

Whilst I don’t fully agree with your take I believe there are some aspects of the format that should be tweaked. I don’t agree with the league phase’s Top 2 automatically qualifying for the Major. Although that would make the league phase more valuable, I think you can achieve that by modifying the playoffs format—basically using the playoffs format seen in China. In the CNL, seeds 1 and 2 move to the playoffs’ UB SF. Meanwhile, seeds 3, 4, 5 and 6 must play an UB QF game. Logically, 3rd vs. 6th and 4th vs. 5th. However, this format presents some downsides too; all teams start from the UB meaning no matter how they performed during the group stage all of them will have a second chance. At the end of the day, there’s no perfect format. The goal should be to come up with the format that’s closest to perfection. The format used nowadays is far from being perfect, but I think it’s “fair” from a neutral point of view. I agree it would feel refreshing if a new format were to be introduced.

I think the better way to make the league 10 games BO3 and take the Top4 or Increase the number of teams in general in the game so it be more competitive and more teams in major and also can make something like VRS in CS2. but taking 4teams from china is too much

There’s 9 games yall play, Shopify lost 4 in a row last stage and made ewc. My plan is for yall is to win against the shitty teams and basically just throw against the better team and hide/save strats. For example lose against falcons, vp, finatic and geekay🤷‍♂️

I dont think i agree, if you cant keep it consistent in the playoffs maybe you shouldnt qualify for the major then. Doesnt matter if you go flawless in groups or not. But i guess what do i know, im not in the system.

While I agree that 1st and 2nd should be given a bigger advantage in playoffs, automatically qualifying from groups is an abysmal take. Just have first and second go to semis, and have 3rd-6 play the quarters to play the top 2.

i agree and also it's kinda unfair, that CNL gets 4 spots for the major, while APL Oce and APL North get only 1 spot each. Wouldn't it be fair to let at least 2 teams from both of these regions compete?

Yeah I don’t think anyone should get auto qualified you need to earn your spot. Because bo1 show nothing in reality. When the pressure is on in bo3 the real teams will show up like. But it would be nice to seem them try it for a stage to see if it’s as good idea or shit take
