Psaki: I felt a mixture of anger—a lot of anger—and emotional exhaustion about this today, as I’m sure many of you have, because we have been here so many times. And yet again, like clockwork, half the politicians in our country have little more to offer than thoughts and prayers. We have seen this play out over and over again. There is a shooting. Then come the thoughts and prayers and then comes the attempt to shift the focus. This is what always happens. You're going to start seeing narratives. You're already seeing them. They're already out there about how the shooter was trans. You're going to see how narratives about how the shooter appeared to be anti trump and anti-semitic and clearly was in the midst of a mental health crisis. But here's the thing. There are trans people all over the world. There are anti-semitic people, unfortunately, all over the world, and people filled with plenty of political hate all over the world. And mental health issues are not unique to the United States. And yes, we should do more to address them. But it's also an issue all over the world. But this is the only country where shootings like this, this one happened this often.

The owner of a real estate company thought it would be fun to build everyone their own tiny home as an office instead of the typical boring cubicles. He felt that it would be more private for them and it would be fun for the to customize and make it their own. When the workers get to work they seem to be at a home away from home. They are happier and more productive. Would you want to work in your own home office like this or should he just let them have cubicles like everyone else?

KIDS: This is my biggest pet peeve in hockey. Skating the puck to your teammate and then giving it to to them. You want to make the ice easier for your teammates, not harder. By skating the puck directly to them, you are bringing the defenders there too. It takes away any time and space. Either move it quick to them, or draw people towards you (away from them) and then give it. On this goal, CGY turns it over because of exactly this. The D skates it all the way to the F, bringing the tracker right to him. Once the F gets the puck, he gets pressured immediately from the tracker and the puck goes the other way. I see this SO MUCH in youth hockey. Make the ice easier for your teammates.

What happened here was the teleprompter operator thought she was going off script to deal with a heckler, and then she was saying “moving forward” over and over to get them to roll the script ahead. She was lost and in panic. You can see it. Amazing.

COACHES: Here is a GREAT teaching clip of something I see in youth hockey all the time. A player will skate the puck towards one of their teammates and will then pass it to them. It's one of my biggest pet peeves in the game. When you skate the puck towards your teammate, you're effectively bringing defenders towards them too so when you give them the puck you've put them in a difficult spot because now with more defenders near they have less time and space to make a play. This clip is a great example. The CHI defenseman skates the puck toward his partner and then tries to give him a pass. They turn the puck over with two CAR forecheckers now right there and the puck ends up in the back of the net. In youth hockey you see defenseman do this a lot and even more so they'll skate it towards their winger and then give them the puck either on the breakout or in the neutral zone. A better solution would be to move it right away or suck defenders towards you (and away from) your teammate so when you pass to them they'll have more time and space. Phenomenal teaching clip on time and space!!

He thought we were all so weak and cowardly that he could roll in there. He thought Ukrainians wouldn't put up a fight, we wouldn't help Ukrainians, and that would be the end of the story. Sanctions serve two purposes. They can either serve as a deterrent, or they can be used as a punishment. The problem is that we didn't use them as a deterrent, and so now we have to use them as a punishment. But when you punish people, you've got to punish them a hundred times harder than you have to deter them. And so, it's kind of too late. Too late in the sense that there are hundreds of thousands of dead Ukrainians who didn't have to be dead if we had been more robust, if we hadn't been concierges to Russian oligarchs.
