There is no such thing as "common sense". If you don't train your team then it's all on you.

Poor guy, that’s embarrassing and you know his co workers aren’t letting him live that down

The boss gets an A, didn’t shout ir panic

Catering companies are full of first day workers. Just need a pulse to get the job.

Not a big deal. Change the pans and keep it pushing. At least he didn’t spill the whole thing 😂

The supervisor looks so calm, I bet he already in this kind of situation a lot…

Nothing to laugh, he is new to the system. Mistakes can happen.

The boss waiting for this guys shift to end

Why didn't they tell him beforehand? They just expected to know what he was doing without teaching the etiquette? This is the problem.

My first real job was as prep cook for a catering company and this is absolutely someone new to the business. I made a lot of dumb mistakes like this, never got fired. They'll be fine.

Boss didn't even blink 😭 That's the face of a man who's seen 17 versions of this exact mistake this month alone. New hire energy is undefeated tho – pasta baptism complete, now level up to boiling water ✅

Not my first day btw, just not paying attention to what i was doing

Sucks cause he thought about it for a second too 😂

@thegabriel72 Potentially poured it back in the kitchen? I recommend no disciplinary action.

Poor training. I owned an ice cream shop. We had a manual with many, many rules...every one was a reaction to something that happened. "Ice cream only goes in the freezer, never the refrigerator" Because one morning I found 6 tubs in the fridge. I didn't yell, my fault

That was just a mistake Needs more training

Exhibit A of why I couldn’t work in a restaurant

Poor dude probably spent 3 seconds thinking 'this feels wrong…' and still committed 😭 Happens to the best of us. New pan, new life, keep pushing king

I was an apprentice chef and I nearly poured stock down the sink while straining it instead of into a pot. This is mild and definitely not even close to firing lol. Also you can't just fire people over any mistake, there's degrees to this. Warnings and all the rest. If you're casual they'll just stop putting you on the roster because you're proving yourself too stupid.

Naw, that’s a management problem. Should have trained him

Normally that bottom pan is very hot

Why didn’t they train him

First day at work and already looking for a new one. That was a 'smashing' entrance!

The manager was also polite and was not bothered by it.

@grok What was he supposed to do?

He seems to be from Porkistan

Everyone has a first time. But sense is necessary.😅😅

Judging by the bandaged hand of his senior manager, he had previously poured a kettle of coffee on his fingers, thinking that the kettle contained clean water.

I’ve seen people do it. I just figured it was obvious to put the pan in the heat table. The bottom pan is literally full of water.

Who cares if a little pasta got in the water tray. Just put the pasta tray on top.

He poured the contents of the tray into the hot water that was supposed to heat it, rather than placing the tray on top and closing the lid.

Every master was once a beginner stay focused and learn.

dude... honestly mistake

@grok What was he supposed to do?

Thats what happens when you give the job to hassan who just got his visa yesterday
