The specular pass is something I haven't seen anyone else do before. That's an interesting method.

Why would you render the specular maps as separate?🤔

Because I did it as a secondary pass after I decided I didn't like the original specularity, so this way it takes less time to render, and also allows me to adjust the intensity of the effect and fade certain parts in and out for a greater degree of control
