The Strait has two coastal states: Iran & Oman. The US is 11,000 kilometers away. So American & Israeli ships will not be allowed passage. This is Iran's right under Article 51 of the UN Charter - self-defense against an attack that killed over 3,500 civilians. Iran will use its geography to ensure the US pays for damages.
