The Federal Government has opened applications for the second cohort of its National TVET Programme, aimed at equipping young Nigerians with practical, industry‑relevant skills. Starting 13 April 2026, applicants can enrol for 6‑month or 1‑year hands‑on training across accredited centres nationwide, with a monthly N22,500 stipend and nationally recognised certification. The initiative, aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Bola Ahmed Tinubu), expands training into high‑demand sectors including ICT, construction, creative media, agriculture, fashion, hospitality, and more. The Ministry of Education (Federal Ministry of Education) is also partnering with the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism to strengthen creative‑industry skills. I visited the 3MW solar hybrid power plant under The Energizing Education Programme (EEP) Phase 11 project MOUAU Umudike by the REANigeria 2: Objective: To provide 24/7, sustainable and clean energy to the University, replacing the need for diesel generators, thus reducing carbon emissions and enhancing academic and research activities. 3: Infrastructure: The project features a solar hybrid power plant and associated infrastructure. -(a): The plant has a capacity of 3MW. -(b): streetlights have been installed to enhance security and protection of lives and properties. 4: Benefits: In addition to power, the project includes a training component for students, specifically designed to provide HANDS-ON experience in renewable energy to female Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM). 5: The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu mandated through the HM Federal Ministry of Power Bayo Adelabu to the MD REANigeria Dr. Abba Aliyu complete all inherited EEPs projects as quickly as possible. -(a): That marching order has been implemented and the University is enjoying 24 hours electricity supply Federal Ministry of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa 6: I interacted with the STEM students and I can assure you that they are ready to contribute to the development of renewable energy sector in Nigeria. 7: This project will benefit farmers also around the University. I inspected the on-going 700km Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway construction by the FG not Dike-si-Mba1 2: No sallah holiday at all. 3: I was highly impressed by the quality of the work done by Hi-tech. 4: This project has created a lot of jobs for the locals. MSMEs are also benefiting from the project. 5: well done Mr. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu David Nweze Umahi Federal Ministry of Finance (Mr. Wale Edun) Federal Ministry of Works 6: I do hope that the HM Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Nigeria Ayodele Olawande will initiate a discussion with the HM Federal Ministry of Works David Nweze Umahi to deploy engineering youth corps members to serve their one year mandatory service on this Lagos/Calabar Coaster Road for knowledge transfer. MY SECOND VISIT to 8.54MWp SOLAR HYBRID POWER PLANT, ENERGIZING EDUCATION PROGRAMME Futo by the REANigeria 2: 27th October, 2025, I visited this 8.54MWp Solar Hybrid Power Plant. 3: MILESTONES ACHIEVED SINCE OCTOBER 2025: -(a): As early as 2026, the project has reached MECHANICAL completion. -(b): Installation of 461 solar streetlights to enhance security. -(c): Installation of 300 smart meters. -(d): Diesel expenditure has been reduced SIGNIFICANTLY. More money for research & development. -(e): I do hope Local ASUU will inform the National ASUU about new development. -(f): Govt has created a conducive atmosphere for lectures, students and non-academic staffs to excel. 4: Today, I visited the power plant and I am so so so so exited that The power plant has been ENERGIZED. -(a): That is providing 24 hours electricity supply to the University. A significant MILESTONE achieved. -(b): The MD REANigeria Dr. Abba Aliyu has fulfilled the mandate of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by completing one by one on-going EEPs projects in our Universities Dr. Tunji Alausa Federal Ministry of Education National Universities Commission -(c): following the construction, technical trials & testing to ensure Uninterrupted Power supply had been conducted with plans for full operationalization. -(d): The University must UPGRADE or REPLACE the feeder systems so that we can have a seamless power transmission. The HM Dr. Tunji Alausa must help us here as well as The Nigerian Senate Nigeria House of Representatives 5: 20 Female Students are attached to this project from Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM). NIGERIA-SIEMENS ELECTRICITY PROJECT: 1: From New Abeokuta 330KV substation To AYEDE-IBADAN 330KV substation, FGN Power Company is implementing the Mandate of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to deliver electricity to our homes and businesses through a partnership with Siemens. 2: I joined the hardworking MD FGN Power Company Kenny Anuwe to inspect the projects in Ogun and Oyo States.
