It’s deeply disheartening that an RCMP Staff Sergeant has labeled traditional values as “extremist.” Differing viewpoints should not be demonized or dismissed outright. Healthy discourse is dependent on our ability to respect and engage with diverse beliefs. To label those standing up for family and community values as extremists risks eroding the foundations of open dialogue, and the freedom we rely on as a nation.
