May this young man's Soul Rest in Peace. The carnage continues due to unprecedented levels of greed, dereliction of duty, and lack of accountability. The funds are actually there and have been provided over the past decade. The Ministry of Finance Ministry of Finance has released about UGX 100 Billion since 2019 for a Department of Government whose main responsibility and objective should be prevention of road crashes. These funds have been spent on activities with very minimal impact on road safety. This information has been shared with IGG, Office of the Auditor General Uganda, Criminal Investigations Directorate-UPF. How do you explained the death of a young man in a fatal road crash that caused the incineration of the vehicle which he was driving? He must have been driving in one of the best motor vehicles in this country given the wealth of his family. He was driving a motor vehicle which probably had good safety features on a smooth road without pot holes. It is easy to draw conclusions like he was speeding, he was fatigued, he lost control of his motor vehicle, he made errors, e.t.c. Whereas all that may be true, did he deserve to die in such a gruesome way for those errors in judgement? The answer is a BIG NO. The truth is government failed him in so many ways. At the center of modern day road safety management is recognition that errors made by road users (drivers, motorcyclists, cyclist and pedestrians) MUST NOT lead to their demise. Here is a situation he found himself in: Concrete Barriers on a road that encourages high speed. Who has the onus to remove this hazard? Government. I could have perished in the same circumstances a few years back before the completion of the KEE on the way to the Airport. It was a rainy early morning at about 5:00am and I drove through barriers which were made of plastic. So why were these not made of plastic? Was there a provision for lighting on that section? If not, it should have been there. This is what we mean when we say roads should be forgiving. Apart from their design, road sides are the major reference here. The road should have forgiven him for this error if it had plastic reflective barriers. These kind of barriers would have caught his attention and he would have stopped his car instead of killing him. Were the traffic lights functional? Why was there no hazard signage or warning of any sort since there were barriers in middle of the road? This section of the road is built as an expressway and as such encourages speeding especially at any time beyond midnight. There are no traffic calming measures in place yet it is freely used by pedestrians and Boda-Bodaz like any other city road. Roads are supposed to be designed and constructed bearing in mind the activities that take place around them (Land Use). Interventions to control speed must be implemented if there is a high volume of different road users. They would have got his attention and he would not have died. A glaring example of contractors that do not care about road safety is on the section of Kampala-Masaka in the swampy section of Lwera. The Concrete Barriers are there and in places where they are not, there is nothing preventing a motor vehicle falling off into the swamp. Not even a rope. UNTIL THE DAY WHEN THE LEADERSHIP OF THIS COUNTRY ACCEPTS THAT ROAD CRASHES ARE PREVENTABLE AND PARLIAMENT STARTS DEMANDING ACCOUNTABILTY ON ROAD SAFETY, THIS CARNAGE WILL CONTINUE. ACCEPTING THERE IS A PROBLEM IS THE FIRST STEP TO SOLVING IT OR MANAGING IT. TOMORROW IT MIGHT BE ME OR YOU. LETS STOP PAYING LIP SERVICE TO UGANDANS ESPECIALLY ALL THOSE FAMILIES THAT LOSE LOVED ONES IN THIS MESS OF GREED AND LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY. The President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, doesn’t even know if there is still a passenger train service between Zimbabwe’s capital city, Harare, and Zimbabwe’s second biggest city, Bulawayo. That is how bad and clueless his Government has become, and when I say these things here on social media, people who don’t live in Zimbabwe think that I am making it up. Imagine the President of your country not knowing if there is a passenger train between your two biggest cities, what does that mean? Sadly Zimbabwe’s main opposition doesn’t have a shadow transport minister to amplify these issues and educate citizens on why public transport is expensive for them because there are no passenger trains. In 1988 a bus ride cost $8 from Harare to Gweru, the train fare was $4 for the same distance, which means passengers could save half the fare when using passenger trains. The majority of the voters don’t know this because they were not yet born when intercity passenger trains were still moving. Citizens don’t understand the relatedness of rail services to the cost of goods in supermarkets, it requires political education which is the job of a shadow minister who would have researched on this particular brief and have the figures on their finger tips. This also applies to goods and services, the cost of a bottle of cooking oil is made more expensive because it has been transported via road instead of rail. On the primary issue, how does a country grow when the President doesn’t even know if there are passenger rail services between cities yet the same president appointed a board of directors at National Railways of Zimbabwe that is drawing perks and cars? The same president has a transport minister and permanent secretary and a whole ministry with directors and managers. I give up I tell you! It is concerning when a country's leadership is disconnected from critical issues like transportation. Lack of awareness about essential public services does indeed hinder progress and public welfare. Engaging citizens and addressing these issues through informed governance is crucial for a nation's development without which nothing will change.

Caring only comes from a heart that fears you.. Everything will pass and everything will end, but not everything will be forgotten.. I will never forget you standing by my side during these times when I really need you by my side.. My daughter Julia sends her greetings to you and tells you that she is very happy with your gifts to her.. The pictures below are of some fresh vegetables and fish for Julia. Unfortunately, I bought everything in these pictures on the black market. I paid $600 to $700 for some food. The price of all of this did not exceed $50 before the war.. Everything that money buys is not valuable. My daughter's life and safety are better than all the money.. As long as you are by my side, I will not fear anything.. My friends and loved ones.. After careful examination, we confirmed that Julia was suffering from jaundice Therefore, doctors recommend not giving up canned foods and looking for fresh foods for them. Julia is really getting better and better. This improvement is because of your standing by my side, my friends.. I am very grateful to every person who stood by me and supported me in order to bring happiness to the heart of my child, Julia. I would be very grateful if you would support me to buy fruits and more vegetables for her until she fully recovers My friends and loved ones... I apologize for the delay in updating because the area I go to to get an internet signal in order to tweet has become very dangerous and I can no longer go there as usual.. But I'm here and I'm fine and I'm doing everything I can to be with you. I love you from the bottom of my heart, my friends

Abuja is a young city. It was born in 1991, officially. Addis Ababa, by contrast, was born in 1886, making it almost 140 years old. Their age difference is 104 years. Yet the Ethiopian city still parades its fair share of slums, neglected districts, and street beggars. I make this point because you obviously have never been there and have relied on a single image of a country that, just 25 years ago, was the third-poorest country in the world, to mock your nation’s capital. And that even revealed a rather narrow idea of what a city should look like. A city is not measured by the presence of tall, shiny buildings. Skyscrapers are not a universal marker of urban success, nor should they be a priority for Abuja. They are largely a response to population density and land scarcity. We think Abuja suffers from these because we have not had an FCT minister with city-planning skills in a long time. Land is not a scarce commodity here. What the city needs is functional infrastructure that allows for orderly expansion and eases demographic pressure on its existing districts, not vertical congestion for its own sake. The irony is that most of the shiny edifices you now see in Addis Ababa, including that green roundabout you think is the hallmark of a modern city (as if we don’t have Unity Fountain in Wuse 2, or a roundabout with a basketball court in Life Camp, and a demolished one with a football pitch also in Life Camp), were built within the last five years. The Addis Ababa I met less than ten years ago could easily be compared to a city like Kaduna, which tells you how much can change within the span of a single term. Nigeria, after all, is one of the few African countries that can boast of more than 50 urban centres capable of absorbing growth if hold our governors to account. It is also worth noting that some of the world’s most admired cities are not defined by skyscrapers. Cities like Paris and Rome have few to no high-rise buildings, and so does America’s Abuja, Washington, D.C. Yet they rank among the most functional and liveable cities in the world. By contrast, cities like New York and Singapore build vertically because land is a serious constraint. Even Oman, an oil-rich country, has developed without an obsession for shiny skyscrapers. Abuja has, no doubt, suffered from leadership gaps and weak city management in the past. But now Nyesom Wike is doing the Lord’s work. Before him, we had a mannequin in charge of Abuja for eight straight years. In the meantime, enjoy these views of Abuja.

Attempt to Kill? XL6 Driver Drags Man on Bonnet in Broad Daylight In Bengaluru A shocking case of road rage was caught on camera on 11th February 2026 at around 12:45 PM on Old Airport Road in Bengaluru. In the disturbing visuals, a Maruti Suzuki XL6 bearing registration number KA03NN4501 can be seen speeding recklessly while a man is lying on the bonnet of the moving vehicle. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver was driving at a very high speed, endangering not only the man on the bonnet but also other commuters on the busy stretch. The man on the bonnet was seen shouting and pleading with the driver to stop the car, but the driver allegedly continued to accelerate without concern for human life. The act has raised serious concerns about public safety and reckless behavior on city roads. Such behavior is not just irresponsible it is criminal. Dragging a person on the bonnet of a speeding car shows a complete disregard for human life and traffic laws. Roads are meant for safe travel, not for settling personal disputes in a life-threatening manner. Incidents like these could have easily resulted in a fatality.Upon further verification, it has come to light that the driver is reportedly a previous offender in cases related to rash driving. Additionally, checks revealed that the vehicle’s insurance policy had expired, which is another violation of the Motor Vehicles Act. Operating a vehicle without valid insurance and engaging in repeated reckless driving reflects blatant negligence and a lack of accountability. According to the DCP EAST, a case has been registered against the driver, and further investigation is underway. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken as per the law. This incident once again highlights the growing menace of road rage and reckless driving in Bengaluru. Strict enforcement, heavy penalties, and cancellation of licenses for repeat offenders are necessary to ensure that such dangerous individuals are kept off the roads before innocent lives are lost. Karnataka State Police S.
