Relax, that was not a climate change tweet. I just thought it was a cool video with fire coming out of a cow. It is a condition called Bloat in cows and the farmers have to release the pressure. The fire part was just a fun farmer trick as part of the process.

So why we don’t convert it to energy?

We call it “foundering” where I live. It’s when a cow eats a lot of grain and the gut bacteria ferments the grain, causing a lot of flammable gas to be produced. Often the cow also becomes constipated at the same time.

It's a proof that these cows are fed grains, which is not a proper and natural diet for them. So basically, the animals are tortured and bloated as a consequence. Cows digestive tracks are optimised for grass, but are fed mostly corn or soy. That is a big part of this problem
