Proof that Rik Mayall should have presented more documentaries AND done his own historical sitcom.

We only get one Rik Mayall, only one and sadly he's gone. God I miss his talent. There was nobody then and there is nobody now who you could compare him with. Absolutely one of a kind

That looks like Eddie Tenpole-Tudor (Edward Tudor-Pole)? 😂

He really was one of a kind. Such a special talent.

We deserved more Rik anything...

Thanks to Raffles out of off of The Viz Comic @vizcomic

Comedy genius. Greatly missed.

Wow not seen this before. Have now discovered these fantastic Violent Nation documentaries by Rik Mayall.

Never saw this before, you've made my day! 😁

@IPhillips79 Ade also ended up being quite good at it

❤️ That's why these 3 ep. of Violent Nation are precious as hell! Once you discover them & naively think you'd be able to watch them anytime you like they're great, but they rise to sthg deliciously valuable as soon as they disappear from YT, appear, disappear etc. Hopetheystay!

Miss you, Rick

@IPhillips79 His George and the marvellous medicine reading is the work of a genius

@DebessCab I was thinking about Lord Flashheart just the other day. Not like that.

I am minded of Kenneth Williams explaining thermocouples.

Such a larger than life character- he once admitted that the main reason he performed, was largely to have an outlet for his over the top personality and ‘inner twit’.

It still has never hit me that he’s gone. A different England and entertainment industry existed the day after he died. He was front the centre on TV during Englands cultural glory years.

@IPhillips79 Rik narrating George’s Marvellous Medicine, was pure genius.

Thank you. I didn't know this existed, Rik was always very engaging. It reminds me of a clip from Tomorrow's World of Kenneth Williams giving an explanation. Known for Comedy but both had the skill to impart knowledge successfully.

@IPhillips79 I’ve heard Hampstead heath at dawn is used for other things these days!!!

Rick the Legend. ❤️

@IPhillips79 Much missed.😞

@history_alice what a team you would have made....🤔

@MissVJFxx Rik Mayall was brilliant, loved him in the Young Ones and Bottom

He is so missed 😢

I was thinking this guy is just like the guy who plays Lord Flashheart in Blackadder... and I'll be damned it is just him! Love this guy!

Rik had so much more to do, supremely talented and kind. Always good to his fans.

Check him out reading 'George's Marvellous Medicine' for Jackanory. Brilliant!

It feels weird, a few years ago, I was thinking back on the great years of 'The Young Ones', so I looked up Rik Mayall only to find that he had died. That was a shock to me. Very little 'fanfare' so to speak. A great loss.

Rik Mayall. My favourite ever comedian. Could make anything funny.

@JohnnyDuncan I miss Rick 😟

I still watch his presentation of Fairy Tales that was on Channel 4 years ago. Even our Grandkids love them and him.

Wouldn't he have been marvellous 😂😥❤

@syntaxe25442118 X just took me straight back to Bottom, Rik & Ade, utterly vile and hilarious. Watched it on my parents’ VHS ten years ago. Way too young 😈

Could you imagine if he had done a ww2 series like the one Al Murray did (Road to Berlin)
