The only other country where I saw such hysteria about a struck was Malawi! Even people like Panganai who have seen better are being paid to come and sugarcoat this pile of rubbish, money which could have been used to build pedestrian walkways.

Since 2019, I began to focus my marketing business on Zimbabwe and Africa after South Africa started closing off business opportunities to African investors. What I can tell you is that Zimbabwe and Africa have been good to me. As I say this, it’s now June and most people have been focused on CAB3. But what have we done with the vast opportunities in Zimbabwe? With so many opportunities coming out of Zimbabwe, I have to ask myself honestly: was my criticism of the government a fair assessment? Is Zimbabwe doing well because sanctions are gone, or because the Mnangagwa government has done well or both?

This is what I always emphasise, the real solution to ending illegal immigration lies in addressing the unresolved political issues in neighbouring countries. Over US$100,000 in cash was found in the apartments, indicating that money laundering is occurring not only in South Africa but in the surrounding countries as well. Tyrants like Emmerson Mnangagwa, who have destroyed their countries' economies, are driving illegal immigration in South Africa. Addressing the root cause instead of just the symptoms will ensure a lasting solution. Those detained today will likely return tomorrow, I call it a revolving door. South Africa needs a lasting solution, not cosmetic measures that won’t solve the issue! Addressing the underlying factors that drive people to leave their home countries, such as the actions of tyrants like Emmerson Mnangagwa, is essential for preventing further waves of illegal immigration. Today, Zimbabwe has over 100 political prisoners, some of whom have been severely tortured, which has delayed its readmission into the Commonwealth. Some of these individuals won’t feel safe and will leave Zimbabwe for South Africa once they are released from prison. So, fixing the inherent and deep rooted political problems is key to South Africa having no headaches about illegal immigration. Why Do So Many African Flags Look So Similar? The period of European colonial presence in Africa is known by African historians as the Maafa – a Kiswahili word which means “Great Disaster”. It is so called because of the terror and destruction that defined this period. Africa’s indigenous development was interrupted, its monuments vandalized, its treasures looted, its knowledge systems suppressed and its history distorted by parasites who had no interest in “civilizing” anyone. Through more than 450 years of oppression at the hands of these parasites, Africans resisted, from the Khoisan and Herero-Nama Uprisings of 1659 and 1904 respectively in Southern Africa, to Ethiopia crushing its would-be colonizer, Italy, at the fabled Battle of Adwa in 1896, to the Mau Mau Uprising of 1952 in Eastern Africa, to the wave of independence that would sweep across the continent only a few years later. This long history of African resistance, Pan-Africanist activism, and the relative liberty that would ultimately be won by it, is encoded in the national flags of many African countries today. In this report, The Spearhead examines this historical connection.

This is Addis Ababa tongint. As I always do for you whenever I travel across Africa, I recorded this short video from the restaurant where I had dinner before heading back to my hotel. I was last in Ethiopia in 2017, and the amount of development that has taken place since then is astounding. It is inspiring to see African countries developing at such an impressive pace. One wonders, when leaders like Mnangagwa come here for Africa Union meetings, do they not drive around and see that being African does not necessarily mean living amid sewage and driving on potholed roads? The difference is not resources, it is leadership — Ethiopia proves what vision can build, while Zimbabwe shows what corruption can destroy.
