🚨 Senior Hamas Official: New Trump-Witkoff Proposal Is a “Totally New” Text Al Jazeera spoke with Dr. Basem Naim, head of Hamas’s political and international relations, about the latest ceasefire developments. ➤ Dr. Naim said that one week ago, Hamas agreed with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff on a ceasefire proposal. However, when Witkoff returned from meetings with Israeli officials, he brought Hamas a “totally new” text that “had nothing to do with what we agreed upon.” ➤ According to Naim, the new proposal fails to address the “basics of our needs” and does not even guarantee a 60-day temporary ceasefire or ensure the inflow of humanitarian aid into Gaza. ➤ The proposal also lacks any guarantees for: — Ending the war through negotiations — Achieving a permanent ceasefire — Total withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip ➤ Instead, Naim said, the text “legitimizes” the U.S.-Israeli plan for aid distribution in Gaza - a model that has been rejected by the international community. ➤ The document also only mentions the “redeployment” of Israeli forces within Gaza, not their full withdrawal. It would require “negotiations from the beginning about the new redeployment plans within the 60 days,” he added. ➤ For these reasons, Naim said, Hamas has sought changes to the proposal in order to guarantee “the minimum of the needs of our people.” Drop Site’s latest report by jeremy scahill and Jawa Ahmad: “Hamas Responds to Witkoff Gaza Proposal, Demands Trump Guarantee Israel Won’t Resume Genocide,” details Hamas’s proposal to the latest U.S.-backed ceasefire terms. Right now, we have all heard from Russia Putin’s highly predictable and manipulative words in response to the idea of a ceasefire on the front lines—at this moment he is, in fact, preparing to reject it. Of course, Putin is afraid to tell President Trump directly that he wants to continue this war and keep killing Ukrainians. That’s why, in Moscow, they are surrounding the ceasefire idea with such preconditions that it either fails or gets dragged out for as long as possible. Putin does this often—he doesn’t say ‘no’ outright, but he drags things out and makes reasonable solutions impossible. We see this as yet another round of Russian manipulation. There was a U.S. proposal for an unconditional ceasefire—in the air, at sea, and on the front lines. We in Ukraine accepted this proposal. We have heard from the American side that there is readiness to organize monitoring and verification. And this is absolutely feasible—with American and European capabilities. And during the ceasefire, to prepare answers to all questions about long-term security and a real, lasting peace, and to put a plan to end the war on the table. Ukraine is ready to work as quickly and constructively as possible. We have discussed this with U.S. representatives, and our European partners, as well as all our allies worldwide, are aware of it. We are not setting conditions that complicate the process—Russia is. As we have always said, the only one stalling, the only one being unconstructive, is Russia. They need this war. Putin has stolen years of peace and continues this war day after day. Now is the time to increase pressure on him. Sanctions must be applied—ones that will work. We will continue working with our American and European partners and with everyone in the world who wants peace—to force Russia to end this war.

When the Deputy CM calls for a "dialogue" on the Bandipur issue, who will stand up for the wildlife - the true and rightful inhabitants of this sanctuary? Despite mounting pressure from Kerala, previous Karnataka governments have stood firm in enforcing the night travel ban. The Supreme Court has issued a strict order to protect Bandipur’s fragile ecosystem. Yet, instead of firmly rejecting attempts to lift this ban, the Deputy CM seems to be pushing for discussions, while Forests Minister Eshwar Khandre fails to categorically deny the proposal. This irresponsible appeasement of Wayanad voters and the Congress High Command puts Karnataka’s invaluable wildlife and environmental heritage at risk. Such actions are both indefensible and completely unjustifiable. #ProtectBandipur #StandForWildlife #DKShivakmar #EshwarKhandre

Yesterday, I spoke in the Westminster Hall debate on #DigitalID and I made my position clear: we must protect freedom, privacy, and public trust. Digital ID fails on all three. I strongly oppose this Labour Government’s planned mandatory digital identification scheme. In my view, it is a distraction from recent scandals and from the Labour Government’s continued failure to properly address illegal immigration. A digital ID card cuts across our English Common Law rights, the very foundations of our freedoms. And let’s be clear: a mandatory digital ID will not stop Channel crossings only a proper and effective deterrent will. Linking migration policy to digital ID also risks fuelling conspiracy theories, deepening public distrust, and distracting from real enforcement. France and Italy already have similar systems yet both still face major migration challenges. Successive governments have rejected ID cards for good reason. Keir Starmer made no mention of digital ID in his manifesto before the General Election, avoiding full public scrutiny of what is an intrusive and far-reaching proposal. A government-issued mandatory digital identity is not necessary for delivering online public services, verifying benefits or employment, or confirming immigration status. Government already holds this information, with existing safeguards in place. Introducing a compulsory digital ID would bring major security risks, a shift of power away from individuals, and huge costs to the taxpayer all for no clear benefit.

🚨INTERVIEW: “UKRAINE IS A DANGEROUS CRIMINAL STATE” Jackson Hinkle 🇺🇸 dismissed Trump's peace plan for Ukraine, calling it naive, claiming it ignores Ukraine’s internal repression and the broader structural roots of the war. He accused Ukraine’s security services of operating like a rogue force, targeting civilians, silencing dissent, and carrying out political violence - all while NATO turns a blind eye. He also argued the proposal fails to address Moscow’s core demand: a new European security architecture. “As for the points brought up in the peace deal, 600,000 troops, personally I think it should be zero troops [for Ukraine]. I think it’s dangerous for Ukraine to even maintain the SBU. Look at what these conscription officers are doing all across the country, rounding up innocent men, boys, old men, and seniors, sending them to the front line, beating them bloody as they force them to the front… It's horrible. I think Ukraine is a criminal state. The SBU has done countless assassinations, political blackmail, all across Europe, all across the United States… There needs to be serious reform inside of the Ukrainian leadership, the intelligence services, and the military. In the deal, it says NATO promises not to expand again. What are we going to do to confirm that? What are we going to do, to guarantee a new European security architecture, which is what Putin has been talking about since 2007? That’s not even addressed at all in this 28-point peace plan. There needs to be guarantees on both sides.”
