Protesters in Georgia use fireworks against water cannon

To be honest, I’m tired of these things. You get 150,000–200,000 people gathering in a country of 4 million, and now I’m supposed to wait and see how Western media reacts before forming my own opinion? If they say it’s positive, then it’s good—but if these same people were protesting against the European Union, they’d be labeled as Russian agents. Now, they’re freedom fighters and champions of democracy. The people of Georgia have already voiced that they don’t want to join the European Union. Stop trying to turn Georgia into another Ukraine, where 2,000 people die every day.

That is the most epic thing I have seen in a while. Damn.

I’ve worked in the fire protection industry for 27 years and let me tell you this. Those little fireworks would not stand a chance against those water cannons. They can force out over 200 psi at any time. You will fly like a leaf when it hits you 🤷🏻‍♂️

Many thousands of demonstrators gathered late on Saturday in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi, building barricades, breaking windows and setting off fireworks outside parliament, in protest against the government which called off talks to join the EU. Riot police responded by firing water cannon and tear gas into the crowds. The demonstrations were by far the biggest since the increasingly anti-Western ruling party was re-elected last month in a vote the pro-EU opposition says was rigged.
