Protesters Pull Down National Assembly Gate Angry protesters of the Nigerian Labour Congress, on Wednesday, pulled down the gates of the National Assembly in Abuja. The protesters led by the leaders of the Organised Labour, Joe Ajaero of the Nigeria Labour Congress and Festus Osifo of the Trade Union... Congress asked security operatives stationed at the legislative building to open the gates to allow them to the National Assembly. Following the failure of the security officials to adhere, the angry protesters pulled down the gates and thronged into the assembly complex to vent their anger. NLC should negotiate reducing pump price of petrol to N250/ltr. FG should subsidise 50%; Citizens will pay 50% pending when our refineries will be in place. That is the palliative Nigerians need right now not fake promises from the FG.

The gate is no longer strong, just there for decoration, it has been badly damaged since the day Saraki plus several legislators scaled it in 2015

PASSAN SHUTSDOWN NASS Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASSAN) has shut down the National Assembly in compliance with the directives of the Nigeria Labour Congress of a Nationwide strike action. All entries to the National Assembly were shut on Tuesday causing long traffic gridlock, while NASS staff and other commuters had to trek long distances to get to their destination. Initially, access was granted, but by noon there was a total shutdown, no one could come in and no one could go out including lawmakers. Cars were reportedly turned back from accessing the complex. The exercise was said to have been carried out by the National body of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria.
