The state government did not file any case against those terrorists, nor did it make any arrests...Our demand is that the Chamoli police be given the authority to investigate. Secondly, our demand is that the terrorists who committed the Nagarasu incident be charged under relevant sections and arrested immediately..."

A dispute had been ongoing at the Nagarasu Gurdwara since this afternoon regarding the activities of around a dozen individuals. Officials said that the lights of the gurdwara were switched off in the evening, prompting security agencies to remain on high alert. Considering the safety of pilgrims and local residents, a heavy police force has been stationed outside the gurdwara. The administration stated that 30 to 40 police personnel and more than two dozen ITBP jawans are present at the location. Two rounds of talks with DM Vishal Mishra and SP Niharika Tomar have failed. They are not coming out. Police and ITBP are at the spot, Internet services in the area have been suspended. The Gurudwara Management Committee is also attempting to negotiate. Nothing has worked so far. The root of the anger goes back to June 16. A dispute between Nihang travelers and locals in Karnprayag went unaddressed. The Nihangs allege that the local Gurudwara management never filed a formal complaint in that case. Section 163 has since been imposed in Karnprayag till June 27. Home Secretary Shailesh Bagoli on Saturday warned that those trying to give the matter a communal colour will face strict legal action. 36 hours in. Still not over. Two of the seven Nihang Sikhs who occupied Gurudwara Langar Damdama Saheb in Nagrasu, Rudraprayag on Saturday evening have come down from the roof. Two others have already left after apologising to the Rudraprayag administration. But five remain on the upper floor. They are not coming down. When one Nihang came down to collect food this morning, those still on the upper floor threw stones to cover him. ITBP has now been deployed outside the Gurudwara. Internet has been restored in the area.
