If we go by all the news, Tejas Mk2 prototype will be ready by 2025 and first flight will happen in 2026 most probably. Which means it will be ready for production by 2030. On the other hand 83 Tejas Mk1a had already been ordered with 97 more in the pipeline.

Out of 21 km of tunnelling works, 16 km is through Tunnel Boring Machines and remaining 5 km is through NATM. This also includes 7 km of undersea tunnel at Thane creek. •Approx. 3.6 km tunnel heading has been achieved cumulatively from Shilphata and two concurrent faces from ADIT portal through the New Austrian Tunneling method (NATM). Casting of Base Slab at both Vikhroli and Sawli shafts is completed •Work on all three elevated stations i.e. Thane, Virar and Boisar are progressing rapidly •First Base Slab at Virar Bullet Train station is already cast •Pier foundations and pier work is progressing at multiple locations along the alignment.
