The paperwork problem is downstream of a data problem. As long as benefit plan rules live in PDFs and SPDs, providers will keep hunting. Structured machine-readable plan data is the missing input for the Health Tech Ecosystem vision.

The Health Tech Ecosystem framing is right. But the gap between "get the right information when you need it" and reality is still the benefit plan data layer. Clinical summaries are flowing, but until plans expose formularies, networks, and cost-sharing through machine-readable APIs in real time, providers are still guessing what patients will actually owe. That is the next frontier.
