How do you urge the public to avoid buying medicine from unlicensed Chemists? How will the Public distinguish between the original and fake licences? How will the Public know whether the Chemist is licenced or not? PLEASE pull up your socks or resign from office if you cannot do it. You should know the number of all licenced Chemists in the country and inform the public. Secondly, avail a reliable working Toll-free number to the general public to call when there is doubt. Thirdly, collaborate with Safaricom to be able to code the Chemists number to the Ministry of health and confirm the authenticity of the licence. Fouth, make it Mandatory that all Chemists place their Licence numbers openly where every client can see for confirmation. Fifth, avail a free SMS number where members of the Public can send the Chemists Registration/Licence number and receive confirmation of the authenticity.

The rot in the pharmacy sector is being perpetrated by pharmacists under the cover of pharmacist and poisonous board

Instead of the public not buying from unlicensed chemists, what about the drug and poisons control board & other control institutions go after them for operating unlicensed? What is their job?

It is the GoKs work to ensure there are no chemists that are unlincensed. And if at all there are, public should be very well educated and empowered on what to do....

They are the ones supposed to mitigate that. In Kenya, anyone can simply pay a licenced practitioner a monthly fee to use/display their qualification in a chemist shop.
