As someone with autism i usually have trouble with big crowds and get really anxious and nervous but i’ve found that with cons that kinda thing doesn’t happen to me as much it’s helped out with my social anxiety as well

I fall on that side myself - idk for you, but for me I have a full set of expectations of who is here and what I’m navigating so I feel safe? - having clear consistent experiences + dopamine from a positive environment of like minded people is incredibly comforting

I have autism as well and although I struggle with super huge crowds I try to gauge the environment I’m in, if the people are friendly I’ll try to open up little by little; like at my first con the people were real friendly and that made me more encouraged to put myself out there

I know cosplays aren’t easy to be on the floor either so the fact they got down and chatted and connected with us for an extended time made my heart weep 😭

So, you know the thing about, I know about guys when they get in a situation Jayson was in, you know, I had to be, I had a chance to be around Kevin [Garnett] when he was going through his injury and stuff. Sometimes you want to give people some space. I did. I reached out to him one time, I think, via text throughout the process. But, you know, I think it's a moment to where you want to put yourself in a place, to where you're isolated and you want to grind, you want to work to get back where you need to go.
