This woman rented a car and was told to drop it off at this parking lot. The owner of the business where she is sitting in front of comes out and asks what she is doing. When she tells him she is dropping a rental car off he tells her this is where his business is and this isn’t a place to be dropping off cars. She asks him if he wants her to leave and he says yes. I will never forget this: Some Black Americans questioned Kamala Harris's cultural identity throughout her political career. I will never forget this: Some Black Americans questioned Kamala Harris's cultural identity throughout her political career. The critique centered on her not growing up in a traditional Black American experience - her mother was Indian, her father Jamaican, although she did attend an HBCU and join a black sorority, and some felt she leaned into her identity selectively during election seasons. That tension was real and ran deep in certain corners of Black political conversation. Then Bruce Fischer walked into that room. He saw no Indian heritage. He saw no "is she Black enough" debate.
