Lagos Transport Model Inspires Kano Transportation Commisioner Hon. Ibrahim Namadi, Kano State Commissioner of Transportation, led a delegation on a fact-finding mission to Lagos State to learn from its advancements in transportation infrastructure and network. The team, which included Hon. Aliyu Isa (Permanent Secretary), Bashir Ado Gaya (Director of Admin and General Services, Ministry of Transportation), Dr. Nura Ibrahim Hassan (Technical Advisor, Transport Policy and Planning), and Najeeb Mahmoud Abdussalam (Transport Specialist Consultant), toured key facilities such as the Ikeja Bus Terminal, the Red Line Ikeja Station, and the Blue Line. The delegation was received by the Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Engr. Mrs Abimbola Akinajo who briefed them on the agency's activities. She emphasized the importance of the Strategic Transport Master Plan (STMP) developed under the leadership of then-Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu, now President of Nigeria, and how subsequent governors have adhered to this blueprint, contributing significantly to LAMATA's success. Hon. Namadi expressed his admiration for Lagos State's achievements in transportation and his desire to replicate similar successes in Kano, particularly with the implementation of a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. He pledged to consult and collaborate with the Lagos State government and the management of LAMATA to achieve this goal. ✈️ Jack from Wakefield caused chaos at Manchester Airport today when he was prevented from flying after ‘peeing’ himself he claimed Big delays hit Manchester Airport this afternoon after a police incident closed the drop-off and pick-up areas at Terminal 2. Passengers ditched taxis and walked with their bags to catch flights, while heavy queues across nearby roads. Terminal 3 was unaffected. Airport bosses say use the free Jet Parks 1 for drop-offs and allow plenty of extra time. The incident unfolded early today when Jack from Wakefield was prevented from flying to Jamaica. He claims this is due to being unfit to fly. He climbing onto the wrong side of a bridge at terminal 2 bringing it to a standstill. Traffic, trains and planes were all affected for hours. He was finally reimbursed over £3000 for his holiday before bringing his protest to an end.
