California: During the most critical part of wildfire operations on the Bain Fire in Riverside County this afternoon, air operations were shut down due to a civilian drone flying over the fire. (Audio attached) This was at a time that structures were under threat, as well as lives of both civilians and firefighters. They had multiple tankers working the fire on a “no divert” for life safety, and some idiot flew their drone over the fire likely hindering protection of both life and property. The suspect was detained and taken into custody. (Audio attached) It’s impressive to hear just how fast this operation took place, and the professionalism involved. Last year, California had 186 drone incursions over fires, over 75% of those led to the halting of, or delaying of aviation operations over active wildfires. It’s a major problem. One punctured through the wing of a scooper. The number was so high, they excluded it from national numbers so it wouldn’t skew the annual trend graph. If you are a long time listener of the show, or a reader of my articles, you know what I think should be done to these drone flyers. The fire is now nearing 1,000 acres, zero percent contained, is still active, and they are evacuating an animal shelter that is threatened.

Oh please, National Railways of Zimbabwe, stop with this cheap propaganda. Beitbridge Bulawayo Railway (BBR) is a privately owned company, but Zimbabwe’s railway system is and should be regulated by the Government of Zimbabwe through the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ), a state-owned enterprise (parastatal) whose chairman is a ZANUPF politician, Mike Madiro. BBR operates under a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) agreement, allowing it to function within the national railway framework while adhering to standards set forth by the NRZ and the Ministry of Transport. While BBR is a private company, NRZ holds a 15% stake in BBR, meaning it has a partial ownership interest. NRZ and BBR have also signed an open access agreement which allows BBR to utilise NRZ’s network and NRZ to use the BBR infrastructure. Are you saying your trains use a railway network that you don’t inspect? The national railway network currently has numerous speed restrictions due to track defects, totalling over 254 km. These defects cause derailments and delays, as acknowledged by the state media’s Chronicle newspaper of December 5, 2023. This again falls on your doorstep. The oversight of railway operations in Zimbabwe, including those of BBR, falls under the purview of the Ministry of Transport. This ministry is responsible for setting policies and railway standards for the sector in Zimbabwe, including for BBR. The supervision is done by the NRZ! So please, spare us this pathetic attempt to exclusively throw the blame at BBR. When you build a house, it needs express authority of the council to certify it fit, when you run a railway line it requires state supervision through the NRZ, something that doesn’t work in Zimbabwe because of incompetence! You should have read the Railways Act [Chapter 13:09] which provides a regulatory framework before putting out this propaganda tweet. That law extends to the oversight of all railway operations within Zimbabwe, including those conducted by private operators. Even though private railway companies like BBR are not explicitly detailed in the Act, because you cannot name all companies in a law, the overall responsibility for setting standards, ensuring safety, and supervising railway operations falls under public authority, particularly through the Ministry of Transport and the NRZ. Strike on the infrastructure of Dnepropetrovsk International Airport On September 7, 2025, at around 04:30, Russian units carried out precision strikes using Iskander-M missile systems and Geran-2 drones against the territory of Dnepropetrovsk International Airport. Over the past few months, our Midnight program has consistently delivered strong results. We're now routinely flying longer, faster & higher as we expand the aircraft’s operational envelope. Recent flights have exceeded 55 miles, more than 30 minutes of flight time, altitudes up to our 10,000-foot service ceiling, and speeds in excess of 150 miles per hour. These missions are providing valuable certification data, while closely mirroring the majority of mission profiles we expect in early urban deployment environments. Our next flight test phase with Midnight will be piloted VTOL, including full transition flights with our type certification intent four-blade aft propellers. Unlike the CTOL envelope that we are now close to completing testing on, the VTOL and transition flight regimes are not new for Midnight, as we have previously completed an extensive flight test campaign with Midnight without a pilot onboard. The Dallas Police Department’s new Drone as First Responder program officially launched today with eight remotely piloted drones based at Dallas Fire-Rescue stations across the City of Dallas. These drones are operated out of the Fusion/Real Time Crime Center and are designed to respond to calls for service in a two-mile radius from their base station. The base locations were selected based on heat maps of calls for service for both police and fire, placing them where they can potentially respond to the greatest number of calls. Four years ago, just before the emergence of COVID-19 and subsequent lockdowns, my team and I attended the Aircraft Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO AFRICA) event in Ethiopia. It's remarkable to think back; at that time, the 7 Star Global hangar had fewer than seven aircraft types on its operational specification and capability list. Despite the challenging aviation landscape and the daily hurdles faced by young entrepreneurs in West and Central Africa, we have managed to significantly expand our capabilities. Currently, we boast a capability list covering over 25 aircraft types, establishing 7 Star Hangar as the largest in Sub-Saharan Africa. What's even more impressive is that our team, primarily composed of Nigerians, has successfully conducted heavy maintenance (C-D Check) on numerous commercial jets, private jets, and helicopters—including those in the Nigerian Presidential Air Fleet. All these aircraft are now operating safely within and outside Nigeria, free from any technical malfunctions or safety issues. This achievement is a result of the hard work of our skilled Nigerian engineering team and the grace of God Almighty. In the next few days, I'll be sharing some exciting news about our gains and achievements during the three-day conference in Ethiopia. As the former National President for Aircraft Pilots and Engineers in Nigeria for eight years, having worked with about six Aviation Ministers, all Aviation heads of Agencies, and airline owners in the last 20 years, and then establishing an MRO and airlines, I must tell Nigerians that my engagement with other nations and major aviation players tells me we don’t know and appreciate what we have as Nigerians despite our challenges in the sector.
