Public sector workers, including teachers and doctors, have been offered pay rises of around 4%. But ministers are bracing for strikes as some unions say the rises are inadequate. Do they deserve more or should they accept smaller rises to fund the winter fuel payments?

When discussing important issues like our public services and public sector pay, I often think, what would Debbie Arnold have to say ? GMB is utter bollocks. The sooner it's scrapped the better.

Stop wasting money on housing all these illegals in hotels and houses; it might save a few quid.

4% is twice as much as what I received working in the private sector thanks to Reeve's attack on my employer with NI contributions.

You keep telling us about pensioners winter fuel payments but you don’t balance it by telling us about the over 4 percent increase they got

It's time somebody was honest on here . The reason our infrastructure won't work is mainly because of unfettered immigration . Oh sorry ..did I offend someone ? The reason we need more nurses, carers and houses is because more people are here making demands. Pretty obvious ?

Is she seriously trying to say that privileged folk should have a winter payment above an equitable wage for those currently working? You're scraping the barrel with guests lately

Staffing is up some 10% vs 2019. The cost per employee is up more than 13% since 2019. However, 2024 annualised productivity has 4.6% lower than 2019 levels, while healthcare productivity is 9.6% lower than in 2019. If this were the private sector we would see reorganisation & redundancies….

I have heard this doctor saying that some junior doctors are on less than a barista which quite frankly I find very hard to believe!

I wouldn’t put Debbie Arnold up against a Digestive Biscuit in a Debate never mind against an educated woman

If they’re out on the front line, they deserve a fairer deal. You can’t expect people to work their socks off and then tell ‘em it’s only a bit of extra pocket money.
