My family and I celebrated #VeteransDay today at the Condor Squadron where I was honored to be inducted a member. Thank you for this honor. Veterans Day is always special. On this day we stop to honor those in uniform, who serve us in America’s Armed Forces – who understand freedom, honor, duty, and what it means to defend our country. Without these Americans and their supportive families, we would have no freedoms. America’s way of life is challenged every day, and defended every day. So, today, we say thank you, and I say thank you to all our veterans. For myself, I graduated West Point in 1951, third in my class, and headed for Korea. By God’s grace, I shot down two MIG-15s and got back home… began supporting space activities in the US Air Force, eventually travelled to the moon with Neil and Mike. For all of that, I am grateful – especially to the veterans I served with. But the message I want to leave you with today is forward looking. We need to keep teaching our history, what it means to be a veteran, how important that job is. Freedom rests on what Shakespeare called “the happy few,” those who know what freedom and sacrifice mean, who rise when they are called, who step up, and who believe in the ideas that have gotten us to this point, freedom, honor, duty, and selfless service. This morning I drove into ABC place Waiyaki way as I needed to do some shopping, as I got out of the car I heard someone shout “Baba, Baba” I turned around and a young man straight away came and hugged me. He looked and me said Baba do you remember me, it took me at least two mins but I realised who he was. This goes back some 20 or more years ago when I was a frequent customer or should I say furniture at a place called Tropicana or Gypsy’s in Westlands this boy was a teenager and together with his very very young two siblings would be there selling njugu or asking for handouts. I recall asking him why would they be doing this late past midnight and he said so they could help their mother and also try get money for fees. I did not realise what I did then, but I began helping him with frees for many years and these boys would take care of my car and even of me when I would walk out very late in the night. They had became a part of that area and the security of Gypsy would even allow them to do this extra work as I would tell them these boys aren’t the usual chokoras who will steal. They would watch over customers cars and I would support them. As time passed I grew out of that life and moved on and we never met again, even the place closed down but my nickname as most of my closest childhood friends, the waiters and everyone who I associated with still remained BABA and to date they call me BABA, and why? because I “USED” to be a die hard Raila Odinga supporter 😂😂😂. The boy told me he looked for me for a long time as he always wanted to thank me and finally we met today as he was getting to work , he told me he sent his family back to Kisumu where he helped his little brothers to complete their education and believe it or not today he is a head chef at the Seven Grill & Lounge ABC place. Good people see how hard work, honesty and focus pays. This is my boy Victor and today I am an extremely proud man.

This is going to be a LONG post so please bare with me Today is my 20th birthday 🎉! I can’t Thank God enough for blessing me in the ways he has in the last six months. This is the first and probably not last birthday that I won’t really be celebrating. I am working today and have to meal prep. I went to the gym this morning which was some much needed therapy. So this will be my celebration. I am making this post celebrating all the important friends in my life who have changed it for the best. Mike I have known you for just over 2 years now and you have been around for some of my best moments and my worst moments. From helping me build out my first AR to watching you work your ASS off to build 2 amazing companies that won’t be going anywhere anytime soon with someone like you as a leader for them. Thank you for being there for me and encouraging me last year when I would send you dry fire videos. You don’t know it but I was going through one of the hardest seasons of my life and the encouragement you gave me ment the world and helped me. You were one of the first people to really motivate me to lose weight. Thank you brother Havoc 2-1 Thank you for all the encouragement and advice you have given me. When I posted that range video and you RT it commented and followed me I didn’t sleep AT ALL that night. It was the happiest I had been in a while to see someone who I looked up to recognize me and the stuff I was doing. And without you doing that I would never had found KingWash and gotten all the coaching he has given me. You motivate me and help keep me going. Thank you brother Wash Without you I would probably be heavier and weaker. And not a very good shooter compared to where I am at now. I truly mean it when I say you have changed my life in ways you don’t know and I can’t express online. Getting me in the gym and lifting. giving a kid with zero structure in his life, meaning and a structured path to follow and chase a dream is something only a few people in life are blessed with and I can’t thank you enough for everything you have done for me. Thank you brother Parker Geurin Thank you for being a role model to me. You are such an amazing father and family man and the positivity that you give is amazing man. Don’t ever stop being you and letting your light shine. And thank you for all the encouragement and kind words you have said to me, it truly means the world. Thank you to The PCRF (Palestine Children's Relief Fund) for facilitating her medical evacuation. Rahaf’s young brothers and dad are still in Gaza. Here’s part of something I wrote after meeting Rahaf and Israa. One minute I was pretending to be bunnies with Rahaf and the next minute I was video chatting with her two adorable, young brothers in Gaza, as her mom, Israa, held the phone up for me. I watched Israa look at them proudly, like I look at my son. It was a drastic snap back into reality. I imagined myself holding the phone in the US with my daughter, now a double amputee from an airstrike, away from my son in Gaza, unable to help him. I felt like I was going to throw up and came back into the moment. “I hope to meet you one day!” I happily said, in my classic Ms Rachel voice but with tears in my eyes. Israa tells me that they no longer eat while video chatting with her sons. Her sons are so hungry and have so little food. They look about 5 and 7 years old. About my son’s age. “Is there anything I can do to help her boys get here?” I asked another mom, who is also Palestinian and was translating for us. Tears streamed down her face. She said she is so touched that I want to help but nothing can be done. I flash back to a moment on a zoom when she also cried and said “Thank you for seeing our children as human.” I ask Israa what she did for work. She answers that she was a teacher and taught math. I think about how Israa and I are both teachers. We both love our children with all of our hearts. We want the same thing for them. But my son will have dinner tonight, a story and snuggle with me, school in the morning… and hers won’t. If the situation was the other way around, what would I hope Israa would do for me?”

“hello moa, it’s soobin. writing a letter while meeting you for the first time in a while feels weirdly nerve wracking and awkward. how has the beginning of 2025 been for moa? i’ve been having fun, fulfilling over half of my bucket list. i went on a trip to sapporo in the winter, went skiing and even got a driver’s license. i went on a trip around korea with my friends and even experienced staying at a pc cafe all night and leaving when the sun was rising. despite enjoying myself so much, there were also days when i endlessly spiraled into deep thoughts. the past three months were a precious time where i realized that i’ve been living my life within enormous amounts of love. i also thought about how my job, where i can learn how to receive love from the people i love, is extremely cool and special. i was also able to learn that resting for a bit doesn’t mean that i’m stopping or falling behind, but that it’s a time where i can recuperate and restore myself so i can go on for longer and go even further. they were small things but i made a lot of memories that brought me huge amounts of happiness. moa, i’ll cheer you on so that 2025 can be a year where you realize and learn a lot as well. 2025 is a year where me and the members, who have returned from a period of recuperation and restoration, are especially anticipating and excited to meet moas with stronger bodies and minds. i made a resolution that i would give and receive love from moa without holding back and express my feelings honestly. of course, this has always been the case but going forward, i’ll do it even more. i may not be a deep sea or a tall tree, but i will become a sanctuary that embraces you, letting you drift freely and a place you can lean on and rest at when you’re going through a hard time. thank you for waiting for the five of us and unchangingly welcoming us today, just like always. and lastly, i want to take this opportunity to say thank you to my extremely reliable members who worked extra hard to make up for my absence. we’ll work hard to become a cool tomorrow x together who repays all your love. thank you 🩷”

Quit my Job at Microsoft, and back to the Classroom as a Student - My Short Story. Till today, some say quitting my job at Microsoft doesn't make logical sense. To be serious, it doesn't make any logical sense especially when I have to return to the classroom and back to the job market. This was however necessary for me to pursue a new path for my family. When I was at Microsoft, on several occasions, I felt Microsoft was God's sent to Africa and I am the Evangelist. Explain to me why a company is investing so much in capacity development in Africa like Microsoft. Through relevant skills, we can bring many out of poverty, save them from the after-effects of unemployment, make them dream big and achieve it, and keep alive hopes in the hearts of millions of others with similar backgrounds like mine. So, I took my work with passion and purpose. I was allowed to support academic institutes in several countries and I appeared as a Guest Lecturer for Masters Courses on Advance Data Analytics. I relocated to the US and everything changed, back to the classroom but now as a Student. Indeed a humbling experience for me. I love every opportunity I have to make complex topics simple. 15 YEARS OF TRADING ADVICE I started trading in 2011, and my first lesson was brutal but simple: trust the process and focus on getting better every day. My start was awful. Real-time trading was fast, chaotic, and unforgiving. I hesitated on entries, chased moves, and held losers far past my stop. I made the same mistakes over and over. Before long, I was at the back of my training class at Trillium Trading. Progress didn’t come from trading more — it came when I stepped back and built a framework for improvement: deliberate practice, structured review, and systemizing my work. I wasn’t making money yet, but my win rate and consistency were improving. That mattered. In 2012, I learned something that changed everything: most profits come from very few opportunities. I coined the “Broken Slot Machine” concept and drastically narrowed my focus to in-play stocks — names with exceptional volume, volatility, or fresh news. Cutting out noise was a turning point. I still trade this way today. 2013 was my breakthrough year. I stopped chasing complexity and built a small playbook of “easy money” trades — simple, repeatable setups with defined risk. A few mean-reversion plays. Small, consistent wins. Fewer unforced errors. That’s when my PNL finally stabilized and my confidence started compounding. In 2014, I nearly blew up my career. A fat-tail after-hours loss wiped out over $100K in minutes. That drawdown forced me to build strict drawdown protocols — daily, weekly, and monthly loss limits with zero exceptions. Those rules didn’t just save my career — they’ve saved countless others since. By 2015, I shifted my mindset away from obsessing over PNL and toward improving expected value every day — what I now call the Bobblehead Concept. Red days became feedback. Growth became the metric. That mindset carried me through the emotional swings of trading. In 2016, I learned how much environment matters. Trading isn’t purely an individual sport. Once you have edge, your mental state is what determines how consistently you stick to your system and capture the opportunities in front of you. Strong mental game allows you to avoid FOMO, ragetrading, and other bad habits that leech our PNL. 2022 the markets slowed down and punished many that didn't adapt. I realized that survival in trading isn’t about always being aggressive—it’s about trading based on what the market requires of you. The best traders don’t try to force the market to fit them, they fit their trading to the market and evolve faster than everyone else. 2023 I started allocating more energy toward swing trading—holding positions for days rather than seconds or minutes. This, coupled with selling options premium, gave me the space to step back, zoom out, and build a more sustainable lifestyle. I was no longer glued to the screen 10 hours a day. It reminded me that trading is a means to an end. 2024, I pushed myself to go beyond stocks. I dove deeper into options, futures, and overnight trading. Each new product came with its own quirks, nuances, and edge opportunities. Learning these instruments wasn’t just about more tools—it was about building a truly diversified and adaptable trading approach that maximizes your expected value based on the situation. At the elite level, the more markets and products you open yourself up to, the more opportunities you have to profit and the more mediums you have to express your trade in the most effective way possible. Now at the end of 2025, after 15 years, the biggest lesson is this: There’s no finish line in this game. The best traders stay curious. They stay hungry. And no matter how good you get, if you’re going to stay relevant in markets, you need to always be learning. 27 days to go and today was a success. The challenge for the first time feels doable… 🏃‍♂️ I managed to do a 10km. That feels like my absolute limit and I just went super slow. I think I’ll pay for it a bit tomorrow. How I’m gonna do 4X that I’ve no idea 🐕 The hardest part of this all is balancing it with work and the dogs. I feel like the steps walking with the dogs are a bit useless for the challenge as they are slow and slow waiting for them to pee etc! 🛵 Running where I feed was a very bad idea. The dogs didn’t all recognize me at first but when they did they thought it was a big game and I had to chase them all home. Was thinking while running today about getting the community involved. Maybe some people could run 5km on the day or even there might be someone out there who wants to still join the race with me. Think there are still slots in Bangkok. Also I’ll get more info up tomorrow hopefully about what this is all for! For now a follow for Happy Doggo is the best thing you can do! Would mean the world as wanna try get that account to 200k by end of the marathon to help more dogs! I’m sure there’s tougher days ahead but feeling positive today 🙏🙏🙏

Ibogaine is the most intense, confronting, expansive, liberating, and healing medicine I have ever encountered. Several weeks after the September 11th terrorist attacks, I had a heart-wrenching conversation with a manager of one of the restaurants in the World Trade Centers. He told me, “I can’t get over the grief that I never saw the 250 people who worked for me as people. They were waiters, chefs, busboys, hosts, event planners—but they weren’t people to me. And over the last three weeks, I’ve gone to funeral after funeral and sat with their moms and dads, husbands and wives, and children and heard the stories of their lives. Now they are people to me, but now they’re gone.” He wept as he told me that story. I wept as I listened. It’s hard not to get emotional thinking back to that story today, 22 years later. And it’s hard not to feel guilt. I think this attitude is typical of many of us. I know it’s true for me. I often don’t see people as people. It’s the barista whose job it is to create my perfect coffee order. It’s the supermarket assistant who is there to speed up my process on the self-checkout scanner. It’s the waiter who exists to get me my delicious meal without any delays or mistakes. Do you see people as people? Or are they functions to assist you in creating a day that is as stress-free and enjoyable as possible? If you want to shine as a light in this world, pray that God will give you the eyes to see people as people. Slow down, look into their eyes, and remember that this is a human being created in the image of God, who has a heart, an eternal destiny, a story, a desire to be loved, with legitimate fears and concerns, and hopes and dreams. Then, adjust your schedule or make sacrifices to bump into these people more frequently. That could mean going to the same place at the same time so you can interact with the same person on their regular shift pattern. Maybe that means shopping differently to build relationships with people who live or work in your neighborhood. Sadly, too many of us are chasing an ever-growing to-do list as we try to build a kingdom of created delights, which causes us to rush past people, or worse, use them to make life as efficient, convenient, and pleasurable as possible. Lastly, ask questions. Simple questions are a great starting point: How are you doing today? How has your week been? What do you have going on this weekend? What are you most excited about? How are your kids doing in school? I was at a restaurant once, and the man dining with me said to the waiter, “We’re a group of people who like to pray before we eat. Is there anything we can pray for you?” The waiter was taken off guard, stumbled, and said, “Uh, I don’t think I really need anything right now.” But then he came back five minutes later. “Actually, I think I could use your prayer. I just found out my girlfriend is pregnant, and I’m terrified. I have no idea how to be a father. Would you pray for me?” What a fantastic opportunity! And it was so simple. My friend saw the waiter as a person, not a function, and he asked a simple question. Then, go back again and again to develop a relationship and wait for the opportunities that God gives you as a result. “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:36–38). 𝗔 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆: God, would you help me to see people as people and not as cogs in the machine of my day to make my life more comfortable and easy? Would you provide me with opportunities to engage with the people you have placed in my life and when those opportunities arise, would you give me the courage to lean in and ask questions of them? Would you help to make my heart sensitive and caring to others that you might use me in whatever way you want. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

Several weeks after the September 11th terrorist attacks, I had a heart-wrenching conversation with a manager of one of the restaurants in the World Trade Centers. He told me, “I can’t get over the grief that I never saw the 250 people who worked for me as people. They were waiters, chefs, busboys, hosts, event planners—but they weren’t people to me. And over the last three weeks, I’ve gone to funeral after funeral and sat with their moms and dads, husbands and wives, and children and heard the stories of their lives. Now they are people to me, but now they’re gone.” He wept as he told me that story. I wept as I listened. It’s hard not to get emotional thinking back to that story today, 22 years later. And it’s hard not to feel guilt. I think this attitude is typical of many of us. I know it’s true for me. I often don’t see people as people. It’s the barista whose job it is to create my perfect coffee order. It’s the supermarket assistant who is there to speed up my process on the self-checkout scanner. It’s the waiter who exists to get me my delicious meal without any delays or mistakes. Do you see people as people? Or are they functions to assist you in creating a day that is as stress-free and enjoyable as possible? If you want to shine as a light in this world, pray that God will give you the eyes to see people as people. Slow down, look into their eyes, and remember that this is a human being created in the image of God, who has a heart, an eternal destiny, a story, a desire to be loved, with legitimate fears and concerns, and hopes and dreams. Then, adjust your schedule or make sacrifices to bump into these people more frequently. That could mean going to the same place at the same time so you can interact with the same person on their regular shift pattern. Maybe that means shopping differently to build relationships with people who live or work in your neighborhood.
