Pull-up tutorial for beginners! I talk about the three major progression steps in the video. Practice with patience & consistency. Master a level before moving on. It takes time, and that’s ok! Start small, too small to fail, but just start!

How long do you think it should take. I’m 63 can’t come close to doing one.

Honestly, it takes as long as it takes…it’s idiosyncratic and depends on your fitness level, body composition ( that’s a big one actually), consistency, old injuries… it’s never too late, though! And it does not matter how long it takes…focus on the process instead.

2/2.. See, too often when doing pullups, we overwork our forearm rotators before they are ready, and don't have the strength yet in the other muscles to lighten the load on those forearm rotators. Tearing a forearm rotator can take 2 months to heal... so one needs to be careful.

Indeed. There are a lot of things to consider. Including supplementary rows and pulldowns. However, if you overload a beginner with all of this, they are less likely to start with just hanging.
