Pulsed fiber lasers are such a useful tool. Making front panels for devices is just a breeze, and the results look really nice even if looks are not a priority. Also, fun tip: you can just run parts underwater. Eliminates all(ish) fumes, keeps the mess contained.

Violently, I imagine, since you'd be vaporizing it straight into wet air. I don't have any on hand to test with, but but it'd probably work.

Yes, but it's more tricky. SPI Lasers have an hour-long webinar specifically on pulsed fiber laser welding, it's pretty detailed.

A large pride of lions attempts to kill a black rhinoceros. Those must be some hungry cats because a rhino is not an animal to be messing with, even for a pride of lions. Ten lionesses against a black rhino! The rhinoceros survived. It’s really interesting how the lions all know to stay well away from the front end of the rhino, and also just how fast the rhino was able to stop and spin completely around—such a big animal stopping and turning on a dime is crazy! Also, I often forget just how big lions are…rhinos are massive, so the fact that the cats don’t look all that tiny in comparison puts their size into perspective.

Original deal: Canada keeps 100% of the tolls until we are made whole. Carney just signed away half the net profits to a U.S.-controlled fund. Plus gave the Americans a veto on toll increases. If this is the pattern — Gordie Howe, CUSMA, and every other “deal” that never materializes — Canadians are finally getting a clear look at Mark Carney. Just another Liberal. Lots of big promises. And when the results fall short, it’s always someone else’s fault. This is the litmus test. And the results are already in.
