Pulsed fiber lasers are such a useful tool. Making front panels for devices is just a breeze, and the results look really nice even if looks are not a priority. Also, fun tip: you can just run parts underwater. Eliminates all(ish) fumes, keeps the mess contained.

Violently, I imagine, since you'd be vaporizing it straight into wet air. I don't have any on hand to test with, but but it'd probably work.

Yes, but it's more tricky. SPI Lasers have an hour-long webinar specifically on pulsed fiber laser welding, it's pretty detailed.
