Put people back in the checkouts. I hate self checkouts anywhere. It's replacing jobs.

I refuse to used automated checkouts unless there’s no cashier available, even if I have to wait. 😡

I'm the same way.

Oh my God they tried to finesse the one lady that actually accidentally didn’t pay for something, meanwhile there’s 30 hoodlums walking out with cart fulls every time I go to Walmart 🤦♂️

As a former manager of Walmart during the addition of the self checkouts... I assure you that no jobs were lost. The stores are given an amount of scheduled labor hours per day/week based on revenue forecasts, which is based on previous years data. On the contrary, these machines create jobs... People have to manufacturer them, install them, and maintain them... They're high paying, technical/skilled labor jobs. The only difference is that now, 8 checkout lanes can be monitored by one employee, instead of one lane per employee. It's a very common misconception of the self checkouts... Hope this helps.

I love self checkout, I never stand in line. I can get it done faster than the paid employee. Yes, there is an employee at self checkout, answering questions & watching the shopper scan. It's a very friendly setting & you are being recorded.

Nice!!!! If they don’t trust you, then remove the dang self checkout scanners.

This is so messed up. I hope she walked away with enough money to never have to work again. She deserves it.

Missing 48 dollars worth of stuff in a self-checkout? Sounds a little fishy to me...

Different strokes for different folks … I prefer self checkout. I like shopping on the app in store even better… just scan as you go & skip the checkout line altogether. Glad this lady got her bag though.

I like having the option of self checkout especially if they aren't going to have express lanes open. Several times recently at a cashier checkouts I've been stuck behind coupon Karen whose questioning the price of every item in their shopping cart. I'm generally not impatient but if I have to bring my 2 year old with me its a different story. And yeah yeah I'd leave her home if I could but sometimes not feasible unless want my dog to be the babysitter.
