Did a review of the All Ireland Final, as well as a view on footballs state right now to finish up season. Mayo won a lot of the moments. Watching back you wonder how one had any doubts at all, they were significantly ahead in many areas. But their mentality was exceptional. Like Tyrone especially, they never allowed the “inevitability of Kerry” consume them, especially after the goal. One thing is the discourse, what I’ve read m, listened to and discussed here. Strategy and tactics are different. Strategy is your general approach, many call it a game model. I prefer now a teams shared intentions, “what are we trying to do, what really is our intention at KO’s, transition etc…”. In the conventional sense tactics are game to game little deliberate things a coach and team will decide to do. Put a player in a certain place deliberately, kick long ball in first 5 balls, mark this player specifically, make your attacks really slow, kick long down the middle after an opponent score. Whatever. That’s a tactical intention or instruction. But your general strategy won’t change. That can take a long time to build and it can be culturally embedded. However tactical things happen within a game that aren’t necessarily “planned”. But it’s still tactical. Players make micro tactical decisions on and off the ball all the time. Tactics are omnipresent, they aren’t a list of plans on a white board. Mayo took a short kickout to right corner back around minute 16/17 that for me was game changing. Was it a pre ordained approach? I don’t think so. I think the keeper just changed and got brave. It wrestled back some control and possession, it was slower. And they got Carneys 2 point off it. Another thing might be the pressing. Mayo have got better game to game, what it looks like on the field isn’t always what it looks like in training or in the last game. Sometimes it takes on a life of its own. Sometimes that can be better than the plan, sometimes not. I go into it a fair bit in the video as I’ve coached it a lot, I’ve been pushing high delay to high pressing with years (to varying degrees of success and in old rules also). It’s not easy and takes incredible buy-in. The set up and idea is easy enough, doing it in chaos of championships is not. And it’s mentally draining as much as physically, it takes awareness, communication & leadership and it’s not balls to the wall manic sprinting all the time either. You can conserve energy. If you are smart and actually learn how to press. I’d caution against most teams going out and mimicking Mayo. However, almost contradictory, everyone should learn what pressing is. It’s a tactical tool rather than a complete way of playing. Something you might need here and there. Anyway some more of the pitfalls in it here; critique welcome

Peter Thiel on the importance of pitching your startup as a “discount to the future” Most founders will pitch their startup valuation as a sort of premium on the last round (e.g. “Our valuation last year was X, we’ve made Y progress, and now we deserve a valuation 2x greater.”) But Thiel argues that this is “completely wrong.” “The value is never a premium on the past. It’s always a discount to the future. I think the way one should always try to pitch the value of a company is by explaining why it will be worth a lot more in the future and why investors are getting to invest at a point that it’s a lot cheaper.” He uses his experience fundraising for PayPal as an example. In March 2000, PayPal raised a round at a $500M pre-money valuation, which was a massive premium on the $45M valuation from their raise 3-months prior (note: PayPal also completed a 50/50 merger with Elon Musk’s x in this 3-month period). How did they get a 5x step up in 3 months? Thiel explains: “The way we presented the round was: this is going to be the last round before the IPO. We got people thinking the next round is going to be the IPO and this was going to be at a discount to the IPO. It doesn’t matter what happened three months ago—you’re getting it at a discount to the IPO.” He concludes: “Always think of it as a discount to the future. Never a premium on the past.”

Good morning you lovely people. Happy Saturday. Hope you are all doing well! Been in my warehouse since early today got loads to get sorted before I watch West Ham play Millwall. Gutted I’m not there today, but I know lots of people going, enjoy the game and get home safe to your families. Now you might have seen the misfits card, said yes to it yesterday. I’m going up against BIG STACKS - I like him, gets a lot of stick online but he is out there nicking a few quid and that’s what it’s all about! Don’t think he’s got much to worry about, I smoke 40 fags a day, eat curry for breakfast and I’m not gonna have time to get into the gym as it’s only 3 weeks away. But I can use the money misfits are paying me to support my local charity that I always support, give some money to my local boxing gym to help the next lot of young fighters and take the family to Dubai to see our friends who moved out there a couple of months ago. I’ve got a live show on my whatnot page today at 10am selling some lovely jewellery so if your about, pop on whatnot at 10am and see the deals me at Boshmarket will be doing. my new song “BREAKDOWN.” is out on the 21st of June!!! 🖤🖤🖤 I wrote this poem because it’s been the hardest year for my mental health. In my life I’ve always never felt good enough, it’s just the thing that’s eaten me up. For as long as I can remember i have felt constantly afraid of how quickly my head can turn dark. It’s always been so hard to fight the darkness that i inevitably have. A lot of people will say it’s a phase and it will go away. But it doesn’t and the reality of the situation is I have to find strategies to deal with it. To put it plainly the things I don’t like about myself will probably never change, people tell me one day I’ll come-to terms with them one day but I want that day to be FUCKING NOW. This song is a message to myself to try and exist alongside my insecurities and my darkness by grounding myself and remembering what is real in life and the world is so much bigger than me. Try and get out of your head and notice the world around you, notice the things and people around you. Connect with them, the chances are they probably feel the same. Don’t let the bullshit inside your head consume you. It just wastes precious time. Remember what is real. Help people, be kind, help the world, help yourself. If you think you can’t do it, you can. You can get through this, trust me. Use this poem in a mornin to get u out of bed, use it when youre about to back out of something last minute, use it when you’re at your darkest. It’s got a little bit of light in it. Don’t forget to put your feet in the grass … Mind

It’s Dyslexia Awareness Week, and this year’s theme is ‘What’s Your Story?’, so I wanted to give you a little bit of an insight into how I overcome my own struggles on a daily basis. It’s all about finding your own path, your own way of solving a problem. 📚Reading and writing have always been a challenge for me, but they’re a massive part of what I do. I actually dictated my first cookbook 25 years ago, and that’s also how Billy and the Giant Adventure was born – me recording stories that then got transcribed for me to edit from. I now work with some brilliant editors, people who understand how my brain works and are great at helping me get things down on paper. 📚With the Billy books, I’ll work in a room with pictures and Post-It notes all over the wall to help me see the story come to life, and with recipes I’m there in the kitchen cooking, while my editor captures the words. I think it’s about finding someone you can pair up with who is good at the thing you’re not, and seeing if you can swap talents. It’s Dyslexia Awareness Week, and this year’s theme is ‘What’s Your Story?’, so I wanted to give you a little bit of an insight into how I overcome my own struggles on a daily basis. It’s all about finding your own path, your own way of solving a problem. 📚Reading and writing have always been a challenge for me, but they’re a massive part of what I do. I actually dictated my first cookbook 25 years ago, and that’s also how Billy and the Giant Adventure was born – me recording stories that then got transcribed for me to edit from. I now work with some brilliant editors, people who understand how my brain works and are great at helping me get things down on paper. 📚With the Billy books, I’ll work in a room with pictures and Post-It notes all over the wall to help me see the story come to life, and with recipes I’m there in the kitchen cooking, while my editor captures the words. I think it’s about finding someone you can pair up with who is good at the thing you’re not, and seeing if you can swap talents.
