$How I Build My Teams I always liked the idea of ‘possession football’: - Control the game. - A tool to develop players. - The opponent can’t score without the ball. But I built it the wrong way: “Keep the ball. Find a gap to attack.” This turned into “side-to-side” passing. It was boring and ineffective. \ The idea. So, I flipped the idea: Instead of controlling to attack, we attack to control. Play as vertical as possible (while maintaining control). If not possible, pass back. Avoid sideways passes. For better connections and counter-press, we use a vertical, narrow structure: These simple decisions lead to short, vertical, and diagonal passes. This is what I call 'vertical possession' football. \ Make it work. The idea is simple. The execution is not. Over the years, I’ve worked to close the gap between vision and reality. (watch example below) My goal is to get closer to my vision every day. But as Vince Lombardi said: “Perfection is unattainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.” Here’s my plan to 'catch excellence': 1. Build it my way. Ignore opinions. Opinions lead to conformity. We reduce our philosophy to its essence—and build from there. Everything else is a distraction. 2. Stick to it. We limit ourselves to core principles, and stick to them. When there’s a problem, we don’t change the idea—we improve its execution. 3. Eliminate waste. Building a style of play is like carving a statue. You start with a block of marble and chip away everything unnecessary. All that’s left is the sculpture. We do the same. We cut every unnecessary touch and step: - Fewer touches mean we need less time and space. We have more space to be creative. - The simpler it gets, the more recognizable the style. 4. Obsess over the players. We don’t adapt to opponents. We focus on our players. That's what matters in the long run. When our ideas work, we can compete against anyone. 5. Develop technical and creative players as a by-product. - Possession: Many touches to refine technique. - Vertical: No “easy” sideways passes. Learn to play in tight spaces. - Control: Avoid hectic football. Control the ball to make deliberate decisions. 6. One Training Structure. We compress our philosophy into one structure. Then, we repeat it every session. We make our style of play a habit. And we develop the tools to execute it. 7. Master a Few Exercises. We repeat a small set of core games over and over. We focus on improving execution, not on new drills. The better we execute, the faster we get to our vision. 8. Bottleneck Coaching. We can’t predict what happens, so we don’t over-plan. Instead, we prepare for what might happen. This liberates our coaching: Rather than sticking to pre-planned coaching points, we solve the most critical issue—the bottleneck. 9. Competition Drives Development. Games are the core of our training. Players compete to win. They force each other to get better and better, session after session. 10. Positive Team Culture. I used to react with anger when things didn’t go right. And yes, it can work in the short term. But to build something great, players must stay on the path for a long time. This combo model and desktop app harness are the gold-standard for knowledge work in AI. 5.6 is powerful, fast, half the price of Fable, and my default for almost everything. We’ve been testing it internally Every 🪨 for about a month across coding, writing, design, and knowledge work. Here’s our day-zero vibe check: - An A-tier coder—but it’s not Fable. Sol scored 56/100 on our Senior Engineer benchmark compared to a 91 for Fable. I think the 56/100 undersells it, it's an excellent implementor, and very smart. But Fable just writes conceptually cleaner code and works better at the top end of task complexity. PRO-TIP: Use GPT-5.6 as Fable's subagent for the most goated combo in AI coding. - The best writer of the frontier models. It’s clearer and more concise than Fable or Opus 4.8, without the overexplaining or weird private language. It can one-shot marketing emails, help you workshop taglines, and explain complex concepts clearly. It's also super fast, which makes it easy to collaborate with. - Design is better, but not top-tier. It has noticeably more taste than 5.5, but Fable and Opus 4.8 are still playing at a different level. See examples in the video and vibe check below. - The real leap is knowledge work. Sol is the first model I’ve trusted to run whole loops of knowledge work—not just help with individual tasks. I use it to process email, surface decisions from meetings and Slack, find job candidates, scan Facebook Marketplace for furniture, and log my meals. It has shifted my job from doing the work to tending the system that does it. - The merged app is fine. I was extremely worried about this because I love the Codex app. OpenAI was caught in an interesting position: How to make an agent orchestration app for regular ChatGPT consumers, coders, and businesses all in one app. They now split the interface between ChatGPT Work and ChatGPT Codex. They're basically the same except Work hides code. And "Chat" has been demoted to 2nd tier status for quick questions in either one. It's not a big leap, but it's not a huge setback either. And it remains my favorite of the desktop agent orchestration apps. Verdict: If I really had to put my finger on it, I'd say Fable has way more big model smell. #Euphoria #Season3Episode3 “You love who you love” Contrary to popular belief, Nate truly seems to love Cassie and accepts her with all her crazy antics. In this clip, she publicly humiliates him but he still tries to placate her. Yes, this doesn’t seem like the Nate we knew, but isn’t he? He wanted to be loved but his dynamic with Cal was so toxic, he felt unlovable. Lashed out in anger for lack of expression otherwise. Maddy’s feisty ways did nothing to nurture the broken child in him. They had a horrible relationship because neither could heal the other’s real wounds. Both he and Cassie betrayed their best friends and seemed to find something in each other that made them feel loved. As broken and flawed their story might be, as Nate tells Jules “you love who you love”. We had plenty of hints that the night of this incredible wedding party was going to end in total chaos. Nate is caught between a rock and a hard place. He truly wants to build an honest life, but as an entrepreneur myself, I fully empathize with his business struggles and the financial hole he is in. He has to maintain a mask of competence so that he doesn’t lose investor confidence in the business. Bureaucratic shenanigans in real estate coupled with high interest rates, especially in California where building codes are increasingly debilitating, have led to many bankruptcies and foreclosures in the construction business. An endangered flower like the white fritillaries in a construction zone can bring a project to a grinding halt, putting jobs, livelihoods and businesses at risk. The balance between conservation and progress in California is reaching unhealthy proportions. Nate’s business woes are not rooted in him wanting to con people. And yet, he now has to face the consequences of this thin line he has been walking to maintain investor confidence versus cutting visible corners so he could better manage his costs. Cassie refused to understand this and so he caved to her demands and puts on a more lavish wedding than he could afford. The cinematic choice of Nate getting beaten to a pulp while she wails about her bloody nose is such a typical “Crazy Cassie” thing to do! The key is in what Naz tells her: “Some women inherit wealth but other inherit debt”. Watch her turn to Alamo/Silver Slippers so that she is truly next to Nate for “richer or poorer”. I know Jacob and Sydney will push the limits of their characters caught in these ludicrous scenarios. I am seated for this! Maddy’s uncomfortable presence at the wedding, Marsha’s jabs at her, her witnessing the love Nate & Cassie seem to have for each other, are beautifully and painfully captured by Alexa. She truly owns her role as Maddy, who is a pro at faking it till she makes it. She’s hurt by the life she didn’t get but she should feel blessed about making an honest living where she stands on her own. Being rich is a nice aspiration but sometimes the prices to be paid are too high. Nate is now dismembered from the desire to maintain their affluent status. Jules’ plot is tragic. The character who seems to have the most sense of self in high school, who whole heartedly and unapologetically embraced her queerness, is now a walking shell with no sense of integrity. It will be interesting to see what Sam imagines for her to reclaim herself again. Rue navigating this new world of crime is a challenging role for Zendaya she’s knocking out of the ball park. As broken and flawed their story might be, as Nate tells Jules “you love who you love”. We had plenty of hints that the night of this incredible wedding party was going to end in total chaos. Nate is caught between a rock and a hard place. He truly wants to build an honest life, but as an entrepreneur myself, I fully empathize with his business struggles and the financial hole he is in. He has to maintain a mask of competence so that he doesn’t lose investor confidence in the business. Bureaucratic shenanigans in real estate coupled with high interest rates, especially in California where building codes are increasingly debilitating, have led to many bankruptcies and foreclosures in the construction business. An endangered flower like the white fritillaries in a construction zone can bring a project to a grinding halt, putting jobs, livelihoods and businesses at risk. The balance between conservation and progress in California is reaching unhealthy proportions. Nate’s business woes are not rooted in him wanting to con people. And yet, he now has to face the consequences of this thin line he has been walking to maintain investor confidence versus cutting visible corners so he could better manage his costs. Cassie refused to understand this and so he caved to her demands and puts on a more lavish wedding than he could afford. The cinematic choice of Nate getting beaten to a pulp while she wails about her bloody nose is such a typical “Crazy Cassie” thing to do! The key is in what Naz tells her: “Some women inherit wealth but other inherit debt”. Watch her turn to Alamo/Silver Slippers so that she is truly next to Nate for “richer or poorer”.
