Groucho is 17 years old, with failing kidneys, fading eyesight, and high blood pressure, but he still loves to play. It’s just that I sometimes have to wave the wand toy for a couple of minutes, or throw half a dozen toys instead of just one, before he will go for it. Cats are so good at compensating that they can go completely blind and their people don’t even notice for a while. Groucho can still see, but these days he responds better to toys with lights and sounds. He loves the laser as much as ever, even if he no longer does parkour in pursuit of it. #CatsOfTwitter #CatsOfX #SeniorCat

It's important to know that the Thing which is sometimes called a "camel spider" is better called a solpugid or solifugid. It's not a spider at all. It has no venom glands, and kills prey by crunching them up with their massive jaws (the most powerful for their size of any animal). A really big one can nip you, and probably draw blood if you let it hang on long enough. But no venom of any sort. They just look super scary. I kept one as a pet for a while but it was a pretty terrible pet because all it wanted to do was escape the terrarium 24/7. Spiders, scorpions, and mantises are way more chill.

For a Western observer, it is extremely difficult to understand what is happening in Iran. How is it possible that just a few weeks after the massacre of tens of thousands, young people risk their lives and begin a new wave of protests? The answer to this question is simple: These people do not want to live under the rule of a theocratic dictatorship because they have learned that they have no future. They can never find a job, have a family, or live a normal life. It is difficult to understand, but being alive or dead is not much different for them. Thousands commit suicide every year. After realizing that they share the same goal, they have now gathered together to bring about change. They will either change their future or embrace death. It is sad but true.

There is a private cricket league in Pakistan, called the Pakistan Super League. This year due to the war in the Middle East, they asked citizens of their country to not come to the stadiums, so that their fuel shortage crisis does not get worse. They reduced the matches from 6 cities to 2 cities, so that air fuel shortage is also reduced. Foreign players who have retired from International cricket and premier T20 leagues across the world, spend their post retirement years as players in this league. The league has still not hit profits, even after some 10th season of it. State level security has to be provided time and again to all teams, as a terror attack is always just a stone throw away. So finally they bring 2 mascots and ask them to get into a mock fight, so that their ever dwindling TRP's get some comical boost. This country is a joke on odd days and a global terror hub on even days.

I used to ask my New York friends Who were living in nyc check to check With a 80- 100k a year salary Why not move down south Where you can make that 100k Really feel like 100k And you can have a home a yard And more luxuries And they loved nyc so much that even though it made logical sense to move They would rather struggle And say “I live in NYC” Than ball and say I live in “Charlotte, Savannah, Charleston” Which would give them a better quality of life It took me a while to realize that The big city is so much a part of their identity Even if its pricing them out and has them living next to mice It’s so much apart of them that if they can’t say “I live in nyc” to someone who doesn’t They would lose part of their whole identity I say all that to say Chicago people are the same way

When will people realize that AI is not being developed to replace you at your job, nor to give you a high universal income, but to literally replace you in their doomsday bunkers so they can have their Golden Age after the Geophysical Event? Why would they waste time, money, and resources saving doctors, engineers, coders, workers, and guards — and risk being overthrown after the event — when they can preserve all human knowledge in the form of AI, and robots can serve as their workers, surgeons, and guards?

you know what i realized after today’s concert? the six of them are all genuinely good singers. if only their songs were actually arranged to fit each of their vocal ranges and strengths, people would see it more clearly. for years, having most of the lines centered on one member limited the others’ opportunities to fully build confidence and showcase what they can do. but watching them perform songs that weren’t even originally made for them and still deliver so well? that says a lot. they didn’t just get through it—they made it their own. honestly, as a six-member group now, they feel more balanced and cohesive. you can see each member stepping up, filling in gaps, and growing into their roles with more presence and individuality. their vocals, stage presence, and teamwork all feel more solid. if anything, this just proves that enhypen’s future is secure. they’re evolving, adapting, and finally getting the space to show their full potential... and it’s only going to get better from here. 🤍

The only thing that matters to them is that Operation Epic Fury can always be said to persist in some deeper, less defined sense, according to their unfalsifiable thesis. If the war is ongoing, they say it proves their warning. If the war is officially ended, they can say it is not really over. If the U.S. achieves its aims quickly and with limited American casualties, they can still insist it is a “forever war” whose real costs are merely delayed. Yellow jackets, which usually nest underground and are often disturbed by a lawn mower or chainsaw, are one of the most dangerous and aggressive insects around. (Haven’t done an Entomology post lately so figured I’d throw one on) Why are they so dangerous? Because they can rapidly and repeatedly sting. This is a video I took of one who had attacked a katydid. As you can see, even as the yellow jacket begins to feed on the katydid, he continues to rapidly “pop” the prey with his stinger, pumping the paralyzing venom into the katydid. I count around 10 full stings of the prey. When a person is stung by a yellow jacket the first time, it releases an “alert pheromone”, which signals to most of the other colony members that danger is present. A major swarm of yellow jackets will then proceed out of the nest and attack the person (or animal). It takes around 1500 stings to kill a grown adult and 300-400 to kill a child. These numbers are achieved quickly with 100-200 yellow jackets swarming. If a person is allergic, they can go into anaphylactic shock with just one sting. I’m all about “saving the bees” because of their pollination factor…but Yellowjackets are one species of insect that I would gladly eliminate because of their danger. If you see them flying around the ground, or a tree stump or some rail road ties in the landscape, avoid them at all costs.
