Land use, library books and bike lanes, the courts, immigration and interferring when the feds give municipalities $$. Smith is irresponsible in education and health. She's not a libertarian, she's a megalomaniac. Why isn't she fixing the 12hr wait lines at the ERs??

Smith used to call herself a Libertarian, obviously she is not and I doubt she would call herself that any more. There has not been an Alberta government ever that has interfered in municipal politics like Smith and the UCP. And by reporting she means her Fakebook feed.

“She’s been hearing” settles everything.

Isn't this Government overreach? Isn't this what her and her seperatist bitch about? Isn't this why we have referendum vote on October 19th?

I'm amazed how many people claiming to be fans of democracy are celebrating what happened today.

Can I address my concerns to her ? I like how she picks and chooses concerns.

She always has to be fighting with someone. Very Trump.

Ironic that they are forcing people to accept data centers, orphaned wells and pipelines but r willing to interfere in municipal business...

“…..many people say….”

I'm by no means Danielle Smith support but on this issue she is correct. Both can be true.

You’re seriously retarded if you look at an 8 plex where a single family house used to be and think that’s good for anyone.

I’m old enough to remember when Smith wanted to free Alberta from Ottawa’s overbearing control. Like this

Very simple. The city "infill" strategy is negatively impacting communities/home owners. City is not listening to community feedback or reviewing infrastructure to support. Thanks to Danielle they are now forced to reevaluate.

Smith wants to force AI centres in municipalities and this is the way to do it by giving the province sole authority over land use, not municipalities.

I’m sure then that she is fine with the federal government stepping into Alberta jurisdiction if the federal government thinks it should 🙄

Certainly not a fan of the UCP but Edmonton was out to lunch with their gonzo anything goes on single family home streets. No regard for impact on existing neighbors. The fact Knack wouldn't address these problems will be his downfall. And build out Blatchford already.

Im shocked most people know nothing about Canadian governance. 100% of civic power is delegated authority from the provinces. Cities have no actual power. If they act irresponsible in maintaining infrastructure, its the provinces job to correct them. We elect managers for cities.
