Queensland has carried out Australia's largest vape crackdown raiding stores from Cairns to Currumbin and shutting down nearly 150 illegal traders. They began as soon as new laws took effect across Queensland as dodgy sellers scramble for loopholes. Rosanna Kingsun

Queensland has an opportunity for change on 26 October. Queenslanders deserve a government with long-term vision. They deserve a government that won't keep going down the path of more crime, poor health services, failing power grids, increased red, green and black tape, poor education outcomes and arrogant politicians. As national Leader of One Nation, I know that, if Queenslanders put their faith in the 93 candidates we have running in this upcoming election, there will be a long-term plan for my home state's focus on Far North Queensland, Central and western Queensland, as much as on the south-east corner. Queensland has been lacking strong, visionary leadership for many years, but I believe we have real leadership waiting in the wings come 26 October. James Ashby has worked at my side for almost 10 years. His ability to work with community and business leaders, voters and politicians across the country is admirable. James has been instrumental in One Nation delivering so much for Queensland. I have great faith in the leadership qualities of James, who is fighting to win the Queensland set of Keppel. Queensland must get rid of Labor, after many long, frustrating years of economic mismanagement, poor governance and the cost-of-living crisis. But the LNP's support for so many of Labor's policies disturbs me; it makes it unlikely we'll see anything different on the most important issues. With the One Nation team led by James Ashby at this election, Queenslanders have a genuine alternative to the major parties. With the One Nation team led by James Ashby in Queensland's parliament, the people of our great state will get the vision and leadership they deserve. Go, James! #QLDVotes #QLDVotesOneNation #QLDpol

🚨SHOCKING: VAPE SHOPS EXPOSED AS THE NEW FRONT FOR GROOMING GANGS ABUSING KIDS AS YOUNG AS 11! 😱 😡 Authorities Knew About This Horror Since 2016 But Failed To Protect Our Children Again! 😤 A shocking new investigation has exposed how illegal vape shops and mini-marts popping up everywhere are fronts for organised grooming gangs. These are the new chicken shops where so much abuse has taken place before. Trading Standards raids in Dudley, West Midlands have uncovered the disgusting truth: • Children as young as 11 are being lured with free vapes, cigarettes and sweets in exchange for sexual favours • Staff caught with large quantities of condoms during raids • A Kurdish phrasebook found teaching lines like "You're pretty", "I love your hair" and "You're young and beautiful" for targeting young girls • Kids as young as 12 driven away in cars to unknown locations • Shops used as fronts for criminal gangs involved in illegal trade, with some linked to men previously charged with r*pe Officers call it an "epidemic" of child sexual exploitation hiding in plain sight on our high streets. They are now prioritising raids for child protection and passing intelligence to police. But this has been known since at least 2016. The same patterns continue. Different bait, same horror. When will authorities finally act? Vape shops are now coming under increasing scrutiny across the country. They seem to appear almost overnight, three, four, even five on a single high street, with suspiciously little custom. In light of recent devastating incidents like the fatal fire at a vape shop in Scotland,Rupert Lowe MP has called for urgent action: “These vape shops are clearly operating in the wild west — we need a national crackdown. Ensure that they are all operating legally, fairly, to all required regulations and with proper immigration checks.” “The British people are not stupid. We can see what's going on. Almost overnight, we have thousands and thousands of these little 'shops' spring up. Three, four, five on one high street? Is the demand really there for that? I think not.” Lowe added that Restore Britain Redirect would establish “a national task force for fraud detection, with trading/immigration checks at suspicious premises with little custom” to tackle this Wild West operation.

Today I announced the Affordable Groceries Act to address our growing affordability crisis in San Francisco. For years, the price of milk, fresh vegetables, and more has been rising by double digits. At the same time, large chain corporations are leaving grocery stores and pharmacies as "zombie stores" - paying their lease to keep the storefronts vacant and block competition. The Affordable Groceries Act aims to end those food deserts by providing stimulus incentives to new grocery stores and pharmacies, while taxing zombie stores to generate revenue that could be used to fund new stores that sell affordable, fresh food. It works in 3 steps: 1. Streamline new stores, by eliminating conditional use permits for new groceries and pharmacies on vacant lots, while providing tax credits to reduce pharmacy gross receipts taxes. 2. Tax zombie stores, by ensuring that large chain corporations that deliberately leave grocery stores and pharmacies empty pay a vacancy tax for as long as they block competition from using the storefronts. The tax would not apply to small businesses, or to any new store that opens after January 2027. 3. Fund affordable groceries, by establishing an Affordable Grocery Fund that will subsidize operators that provide fresh affordable food. This could help corners stores convert into full grocery stores with fresh food, or let the city purchase buildings and rent them out to grocery operators who agree to keep prices low. We're bringing Affordable Groceries Act to the ballot this November, so you can make your voices heard that every San Franciscan deserves fresh affordable food in their neighborhood.
