Sam Altman: "I grew up implicitly thinking that intelligence was this, like really special human thing and kind of somewhat magical. And I now think that it's sort of a fundamental property of matter..." It's a fascinating thought. As we peel back layers of scientific discovery, we do seem to distance ourselves from the "main character energy" role in the universe. Yet, even if we aren't unique in our intelligence, there's a profound importance in our human existence that needs preserving.

Such as GPT 5 Pro reportedly solving Yu Tsumura’s 554th problem, an IMO level group theory challenge that an August preprint said no LLM had solved, so the new claim is being actively contested. Sébastien Bubeck also said GPT 5 Pro produced a new proof that tightened a bound in smooth convex optimization.

As we work with a lot of the businesses and enterprises, they will need that visibility into what happens. They will want to execute certain tasks on top of that. They want good visibility into each of the steps and great accuracy of all the models. But beyond that, they can abstract away what’s the LLM layer, what’s the intelligence layer, and the integrations are easier in that system.
