Question for the group… is there a difference between what Matt Nagy called in 2018 and what Shane Waldron called last week? Are we judging the play call to harshly? 🐻⬇️

@The_Dream99 Game situation. 7-7 game in the 2nd vs. 7-12 game late in the 4th.

Don’t disagree!

@The_Dream99 Hicks was a proven sure-handed player on a team that didn’t have the weapons offensively they have now. Compare to a backup lineman with not much NFL experience. Plus this wasn’t with the game on the line. It was completely unnecessary last Sunday.

@The_Dream99 I’d agree. Hicks had more proven hands than Doug. Although you could argue because Doug is a center, his hands on ball should be solid

@The_Dream99 Yes. 7-7 game in the 2Q vs a critical moment in a game in which that was your FIRST redzone trip with 6 min left? I don’t think they’re comparable situations at all

@TheBearsBastard @The_Dream99 Fair point!

@The_Dream99 The timing of the play call was my issue

@The_Dream99 That’s fair!

@The_Dream99 I’ve been talking to anyone who will listen that if the play works “it was a great play call” and “ the Bears are having fun again” Sure, it’s tough to do when you’re down, but if it works it’s a highlight reel or no one bats an eye

In 2018 we were in the 2nd quarter vs the 4th quarter last week. In 2018 we showed the ability to score against the Giants. The offense was dismal at best last week with little to no scoring. I would say Waldron was/is not being judge too harshly. It was a terrible play to run at the point in the game especially based on how poorly the entire offense side of the ball was playing. Give the ball to a true ball carrier. 🐻⬇️
