So pretty! Do you mind if I ask what brush you used for the first highlights? It seems almost angular? And the blending is quite nice! I have few brushes that blend well
all the blobbing was done with a generic round brush and then use blender to blend out edges. i think it’s just my tablet pen pressure setting that make brush strokes come out like that
Ah okay! :0 I’ll see about playing with my round brushes settings in a copy to see if I can get something a bit similar

Can I ask how you know what colors to pick? I want to get better at coloring.
i usually plan out lighting first using hard light layer mode. once the color plans look ok to me, i manually pick colors based on the layout. i usually try to pick colors based it on relativity to enviroment and try to keep values consistent

How do you always know which colors to use without layer modes? Please I'm dying to know 😭
i usually picked colors by relation to each others. like for this, i wanted warmer lighting and cool shadow for complementary color scheme because they’re on opposite side of wheel so the contrast is stronger. i usually check the colors in grayscale for consistent values
