Absolutely lame. This feature should strictly be a parental restriction feature so that the PARENTS do their job at restricting their kids properly. Not put it on the company to do everything for them.

to note: persona identities (the company handling roblox age verification) has a public history of lawsuits made against them over the years in relation to what they're doing with collected user data. definitely NOT a good idea to have them on a platform primarily used by kids

It's literally basic Internet safety to NOT give your face/personal information out to people, and Roblox wants you to break that.

What about all the parents that play Roblox with their kids and join them to keep an eye on them...they will be put in separate servers? That's not the way to keep our kids safe. Just my 2 cents.

The age verification update doesn't contribute to child safety like it was supposed and to be used for. Instead we got adults that could age verify under 13 and kids who use their mom's ID to age verify themself by 18+. I wonder how this can be descripted as safety.

Watched the whole video and I have to say that its very bad that they didn't add the age group matchmaking yet but you still become forced to give your age and personal data to a company which isn't trustable at all. Some of the Roblox games is defo gonna become a ghost town.

L update, now, every player is hating the update. It's literally inconvenient, also, a lot of people buying T-Shirts written "I refuse to give my face and ID to Roblox, I can't chat". Some of those people are even got banned It's the time to quit Roblox and start playin minecraft

I wonder if the servers you join are quiet because you're in the 21+ age group, but most players playing Roblox nowadays are <18. I've joined a couple of random Roblox servers myself as a part of the 16-17 age group, people were communicating normally and I was able to see their chats.

Atleast 1. 1 kid was saved from becoming a victim because of this update. While I agree, the model they use to instill this update is flawed, it seems like the only viable solution for now. I don’t want to see another video on the internet of where some 14 year old girl is getting blackmailed by predators. I care so much about child safety, I like this update, but to an extent. Obviously it’s hard to trust random companies, but why have chat in the first place if this is the case. I’ve had chat since I started playing the game, and I joined in 2009. At this point, to protect the kids, I’d rather see a complete wipe of chat systems. But nobody wants that, but this is what we get until a better solution comes.
